The Rainmaker by graemestevens

The Rainmaker

According the weather forecast we're expecting a wet front today. This is not the kind of wet front that I usually like to see coming toward me, so I hid like a yellow bellied coward behind the remains of a tree and hoped for the best.
This was taken at Castlecliff beach at Wanganui where I have had the deep and lasting pleasure of working for the last two days.
wow Graeme! This is gorgeous!! Love how the b&w makes this a very strong image with the stormy sky!

@overalvandaan Thank you very much - yet again I had the place to myself. Someone must be telling the locals that I'm in residence...

August 7th, 2015
oh. nice - are those logs on the floor? they look alive
August 7th, 2015
Now that's a weird overlap from tree to sea in b&w

I think I can see the blue sky here turned into what makes a great photo! I'm not sure what the beach driftwood has created but I wouldn't want to stand in its way! Glad you are enjoying your new job!
August 7th, 2015
Beautifully ominous :)

@tracie8266 Thank you very much :)
@brigette They are - the beach at Wanganui is more driftwood than sand. Next time I'm there I need to make sure I have an empty boot!
@mastermek Isn't it though? Quite strange...which is probably why I liked it :)
@maggiemae The blue sky wasn't there for long, and yes, I'm loving the new job...
@hermann Thank you very much :)

I have looked at your pictures for such a long time but never commented. You are amazing!!!!!! Your pics are beyond commenting on I just never know what to say because they leave me speechless! And that doesn't happen often 😊 I will say that the first log looks like a giant turtle coming out of the water.
