The View From Here. Again. by graemestevens

The View From Here. Again.

Today finds me completely uninspired, so here is the view from my house. From past experience, when the clouds look like this and start to bank up against Mount Taranaki from both sides, we know we're in the shit.
Wow! That is quite a view! FAV!

So not the view I have out my window. Gorgeous!
August 11th, 2015
Amazing view!
August 11th, 2015
Fabulous old mountain. But dangerous like some photographs we have seen before! Requires great respect!
August 11th, 2015
Wow, what a view!
August 11th, 2015
Awesome view. What a pretty sight to see each day.
August 11th, 2015
You see that every day???? WOW! We in the flatlands are totally envious of you in the mountains!
August 11th, 2015
@taffy Not every day - usually it's covered in those clouds at this time of year, but we get the little "foothills" every day...if you can't see the mountain it's raining, and if you can see it then it's going too.
@bigugly I've taken to walking around with my eyes closed...
@888rachel It's truly stomach churning isn't it...
@maggiemae A lot of people have been up there thinking that he's an easy climb but no, definitely not. Our local rescue helicopter is up there most weekends bringing one or two idiots back down.
@nanderson It's awful isn't it?
@lsanderson55 Really, I thought everyone had one of these in their garden ;)
@homeschoolmom Thank you very much, but it's an awful thing to be looking at every day ;)
August 11th, 2015
How incredible to have that view!!!
August 11th, 2015
@pixelchix Meh, it's okay ;)
August 11th, 2015
My son played a hockey tournament in Stratford and had the other side to the mountain to look at from the turf - the only thing he liked about Stratford I'm afraid!!!
August 11th, 2015
I was going to tell you about the amazing view of the alley in my backyard, but oh, never mind.
August 11th, 2015
@alinz I grew up in Stratford, lived there until I was 14 and had the deep and lasting pleasure of almost daily beatings from Mark "Bull" Allen. My father was in the police there until we moved to New Plymouth...then I buggered off to see the world and lived in the UK for 7 years...I hate Stratford as well.
@beschnett You have an alley??? Now I'm jealous (seriously)
August 11th, 2015
Who's in a grumpy mood, then? And yet, uninspired though you may feel, you're still inspiring everyone else! :)
August 11th, 2015
@mothermalarky That would be me, Mr. Cranky. And thank you very much :)
August 11th, 2015
This is great - at least you can see the mountain, even if only briefly before the weather closes in again….
August 11th, 2015
@dide Thanks - I could have been wrong actually, it's still clear and cold. So cold.
August 11th, 2015
Please don't say it as I am going tramping this weekend there.
August 11th, 2015
@yaorenliu I have no idea of the long range forecast, but enjoy :)
August 11th, 2015
Sue
Well, if this is a Mr Cranky uninspired shot---- well done you! ;-)
August 11th, 2015
@sioux Thank you very much :)
August 11th, 2015
Oh wow, love it :-)
August 11th, 2015

August 11th, 2015
That's a pretty awesome view
August 11th, 2015

August 11th, 2015
That is one gorgeous mountain
August 11th, 2015
What a VIEW, you are very lucky to see this every day...
August 11th, 2015
To echo everyone - oh to wake up to that outside your window... Beautiful shot, especially for being 'uninspired'!
August 11th, 2015
wow you live in a beautiful place with a gorgeous mountain in the backyard!! would love to have that when I'm not inspired ;)
August 11th, 2015
@nicoleterheide It's always a good fall back ;)
@kerosene Thanks very much - so very cold though...
@tonygig Some days we see it, other days it's just a cloud bank...
@blueberry1222 That it is :)
@karlow75 The damned camera keeps trying to get that colour function up and running ;)
@adayinmallacoota We're pretty lucky when it comes out to play from behind the clouds
August 11th, 2015
What a wonderful shot to be able to get from your home.......brrr can feel the cold from here.
August 11th, 2015

Ah, but what gorgeous shit!
August 12th, 2015
@graemestevens you poor brave thing?
August 12th, 2015
Great shot, it looks a little like Mt Fuji.
August 12th, 2015
@ceilidh It was used as a "stunt double" for Mt. Fuji when they filmed the Last Samurai here...
@bill_fe I think its a shit beyond comparison
August 12th, 2015
Spectacular !!
August 13th, 2015
I love the mountain. That is something I will never see from my house. We do have a mountain, not that big nor will we see snow on it. Well done.
August 13th, 2015
@sdutoit Thanks very much - just a snap shot really :)
August 13th, 2015
wow eee. Are those clouds for real?
August 13th, 2015
I see you have the same weather forecast as we do: if you can't see the mountains it is raining, if you can it is going to rain. It will be a lovely view on cloudless days when all those traces of human habitation have gone!
August 13th, 2015
@brigette Darkened marginally with a filter, but only a tiny, tiny touch...and it came to nothing anyway!
@yrhenwr That's what irritates me the most...trying to find a good shot of this hillock with no traces of humanity in the way. One day...
August 13th, 2015
looks awesome.. gives it a 3D feel. I like
August 13th, 2015
@brigette I thank you :)
August 13th, 2015
Beautiful shit though....stunning!
August 13th, 2015
@happypat Thanks very much :)
August 13th, 2015
That's a lot of snow! I love when the mountains are snow capped!
August 14th, 2015
@harbie I like it too, but it's just a bit chilly...
August 14th, 2015
Wow!! Cool pic
August 14th, 2015
@photographycrazy Thank you very much
August 14th, 2015

August 16th, 2015
@annied I rather like it...
August 16th, 2015
@graemestevens yeh thought you might
August 16th, 2015
Not a bad view to wake up to.
August 17th, 2015
@dh it'll do
August 17th, 2015
Always hide under the table with your precious camera
August 24th, 2015
@mastermek I'm not allowed under the table anymore due to past infringements
