Te Rewa Rewa by graemestevens

Te Rewa Rewa

Day three of the One Night Stand actually brings me right back into my nice cosy Comfort Zone with a theme of B&W.
This is the Te Rewa Rewa Bridge at Waiwakaiho with Mount Taranaki in the background, showing it's face for a change. The most disturbing element of this shot is that it has a person in it, and a complete stranger at that...not something I usually do. Now I have to spend time tracking her down and destroying any evidence...
nice framing.

A fine composition Graeme. The nearer stranger is OK, but you could dispense with those at the back (see to it!). The light and left hand edges may be superfluous, so a square format might improve it further? Fav anyhow!
November 10th, 2015
Love how you framed the mountain!
November 10th, 2015
stunning, nothing short of a big fat fav. Wonderful piece of architecture, I would love to see it someday..

November 11th, 2015
Stunning composition!
November 11th, 2015
Beautiful shot. I think I'd prefer it without the figure or, if you could have perfectly posed her, maybe further away walking toward that perfect snowy peak on the left between the shadows. Gorgeous shot though
November 11th, 2015
Me too ... I love the leading line of the bridge and how it frames the mountain.
November 11th, 2015
Jae

November 11th, 2015
Great shot, Graeme! :)
November 11th, 2015
I have seen a few shots, as I scroll back, where the evidence can be buried. The capture reminds me of a great work of art without the damn passerby of course. Deal with that. Fav and such
November 11th, 2015
Fabulous shot, love the composition and how the structure frames the mountain :)
November 11th, 2015
@hermann Thank you very much :)
@kevin365 Thanks awfully - as soon as I track down that passerby the situation will improve. And I'll get to dig another hole.
@juliedduncan Thank you very much :)
@taffy Wow, thank you so much :)
@orangecrush It's one of my favourites as far as bridges go, and thank you very much :)

Wonderful shot. Love this bridge and the mountain.
November 11th, 2015
Wow what amazing architecture
November 11th, 2015
I've nothing to add that hasn't already been said several times, except great caption. My reaction to a daily dose of your images and words reminds me of reading the delightfully creepy US comic strip 'The Far Side'.
November 11th, 2015
Wonderful framing of the mountain with a very interesting bridge.
November 11th, 2015
Fabulous framing. I just love this.
November 11th, 2015
pam
woa this is beautiful!!!!!!!!
November 11th, 2015
Lovely framing and it made me smile that you don't capture any old bridge but it has to be one with bones ...
November 11th, 2015
Wonderful! Fav
November 11th, 2015
@craftymeg Thank you very much :)
@callymazoo Thanks very much - I wouldn't dream of loitering around a common bridge...

November 11th, 2015
Instant Fav Graeme, Brilliant...
November 11th, 2015
This is absolutely fabulous in every way. And Mount Taranaki beckons,... its on my bucket list, but I never got over the tree line (weather-related),... Yet.
November 11th, 2015
@mona65 Thank you very much - I've been to the top once and no sooner did I get there than it clouded over!
@tonygig Thank you very much :)
November 11th, 2015

November 11th, 2015
I am stunned.

@joansmor Good lord ;)
@maggiemae Thank you very much - I'm not embarrassed, I'm just aghast that someone had the temerity to be in one of my shots
November 11th, 2015
Wonderful framing... love the shapes of that bridge against the crystal clear mountain top. I would not like to attempt any of the names while drunk OR sober, without proper guidance.
November 11th, 2015
@rosiekerr Thanks very much - the names are hilarious, you should give it a crack ;)
November 11th, 2015
Oh yes.. I'm delighted! Now how do I give it a second fav?
November 11th, 2015
xo
Stunning B&W :)
November 11th, 2015
@yrhenwr One will be sufficient thank you - and thanks for the feedback, it looks so much better
@daily50 Thank you very much :)
November 12th, 2015
I did not see the previous version, but this edited square format is superb, both for the photograph and the architecture of this fabulous bridge framing that wonderful mountain!! And, yes, B&W was your day, I can just see you doing your Happy Dance!! I was on the fence about that person, but I think I would prefer her eliminated! See what you can do....FAV, nonetheless!!
November 12th, 2015
@panthora There were two others in the shot originally so I'm not taking this one out as well - that would be too much like hard work ;)
November 12th, 2015
Cool shot!
November 12th, 2015
@graemestevens Couldn't you just scare them away?!! That would be much less work! ;-))
November 12th, 2015
@stiggle Thanks very much :)
@panthora That wouldn't be very neighbourly of me...fun, but not neighbourly. And one of them was bigger than me
November 12th, 2015
I love the structure of the bridge and the way you used it to frame the mountain. People! What are you going to do? They seem to be every where.
November 12th, 2015
@lynbonn I'm going to hunt them down is what I'm going to do...and thank you :)
November 13th, 2015
Very impressive shot, a great bridge with an even better backdrop. It was very inconsiderate of the pedestrian to get in the way. I hope you let her know.
November 13th, 2015
@karlow75 I have since hunted her down and had a serious conversation about the dangers of walking casually any where near me.
November 13th, 2015
Great architecture, framing, mountain!
November 13th, 2015
@overalvandaan Thank you, thank you and thank you :)

November 20th, 2015

that bridge frames nicely
November 20th, 2015
@brigette Thanks very much - it's not often that he's out of hiding!
November 20th, 2015
Congratulations on the TT, Graeme! At first I thought the person detracted from the shot but upon closer observation I feel it completes it!

I just knew this would be a top twenty. Congratulations.
