Day three of the One Night Stand actually brings me right back into my nice cosy Comfort Zone with a theme of B&W.
This is the Te Rewa Rewa Bridge at Waiwakaiho with Mount Taranaki in the background, showing it's face for a change. The most disturbing element of this shot is that it has a person in it, and a complete stranger at that...not something I usually do. Now I have to spend time tracking her down and destroying any evidence...
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
A fine composition Graeme. The nearer stranger is OK, but you could dispense with those at the back (see to it!). The light and left hand edges may be superfluous, so a square format might improve it further? Fav anyhow!
@rachelwithey Thank you very much :) @julzmaioro Thanks - apparently it's meant to represent whale bones... @ahleena I think it was designed to represent whale bones @pamknowler Thank you very much :) @annied Thank ya ma'am, always appreciated @epcello Thank you so much :) @jack4john Thank you very much - you could always come over, there's loads of hotels ;) @redy4et Thank you very much :) @yrhenwr Thank you as always - your points are duly noted. So duly noted in fact that I think I've fixed it :) @blueberry1222 Thanks very much :)
Beautiful shot. I think I'd prefer it without the figure or, if you could have perfectly posed her, maybe further away walking toward that perfect snowy peak on the left between the shadows. Gorgeous shot though
@happypat Thank you very much - sometimes I can get it right ;) @lifepause Thanks very much-o @aecasey Thank you very much :) @carla42 Thanks very much - the next time I see her I'll mention that ;) @elytra Thank you very much :) @kerosene Thanks very much - you really haven't lived until you try our place names while drunk... @tracie8266 Thanks very much :) @pinkpaintpot Thank you very much - I was on my knees...again @daneau Thanks very much - if you're heading this way let me know! @shazzym Thank you very much :) @deborah63 It's one of my favourites :) @vignouse Thank you very much - always appreciated @jammyb Thanks very much :) @amandal Thank you kindly - I don't know who she is but I will find her and thank her too ;)
Love, love, love this!!!! Great B&W, great composition, wonderful architectural image -- great framing. I wish this were my shot. Love it and instant fav!
I have seen a few shots, as I scroll back, where the evidence can be buried. The capture reminds me of a great work of art without the damn passerby of course. Deal with that. Fav and such
@hermann Thank you very much :) @kevin365 Thanks awfully - as soon as I track down that passerby the situation will improve. And I'll get to dig another hole. @juliedduncan Thank you very much :) @taffy Wow, thank you so much :) @orangecrush It's one of my favourites as far as bridges go, and thank you very much :)
@mastermek thank you kindly :) @dibzgreasley Thank you very much :) @alinz "Glad" is an understatement...not quite sure how I'm going to handle "motion" @harbie Thank you very much :)
I've nothing to add that hasn't already been said several times, except great caption. My reaction to a daily dose of your images and words reminds me of reading the delightfully creepy US comic strip 'The Far Side'.
@craftymeg Thank you very much :) @callymazoo Thanks very much - I wouldn't dream of loitering around a common bridge... @timewalker Thank you so much :) @johnfalconer Thank you very much, much appreciated @shepherdmanswife Thanks very much - every now and then I get it right ;) @fotoblah I love the Far Side, always have - and thank you @neatz It's one of my favourites, apparently designed to represent whale bones @nickspicsnz Thank you very much :) @dide Thank you very much :) @adayinmallacoota Thanks very much indeed :)
This is absolutely fabulous in every way. And Mount Taranaki beckons,... its on my bucket list, but I never got over the tree line (weather-related),... Yet.
@semjaja Thank you very much - sometimes i can get it right @365projectorgsebgritt Thank you very much :) @joansmor Good lord ;) @maggiemae Thank you very much - I'm not embarrassed, I'm just aghast that someone had the temerity to be in one of my shots
Wonderful framing... love the shapes of that bridge against the crystal clear mountain top. I would not like to attempt any of the names while drunk OR sober, without proper guidance.
I did not see the previous version, but this edited square format is superb, both for the photograph and the architecture of this fabulous bridge framing that wonderful mountain!! And, yes, B&W was your day, I can just see you doing your Happy Dance!! I was on the fence about that person, but I think I would prefer her eliminated! See what you can do....FAV, nonetheless!!
Very impressive shot, a great bridge with an even better backdrop. It was very inconsiderate of the pedestrian to get in the way. I hope you let her know.
@julzmaioro Thanks - apparently it's meant to represent whale bones...
