Captive

In the basement of the building that friends of ours have just bought and will be converting in to a low rent art gallery for local exhibitions. We used to have one such gallery that was fully council funded, however all funding was removed earlier this year in favour of an 11% salary increase for our noble councillors, who decided that local artists just weren't as important as shiny new cars and gadgets and sadly the gallery closed. I was invited down to the building last night as some very interesting crawl spaces, niches, wells and stairways have been uncovered while removing the existing plasterboard....what's a boy to do?
I can just see your eyes glittering behind the mask. Eerie! Best of luck with your gallery project! Would love to see the "after" shot, too! :)

You have good friends :)

So will you be invited to mount the first exhibition... or daren't you confirm the neighbours' worst suspicions/fears?

Where are the chains and shackles? All the best for the gallery, an admirable enterprise.

I love a good art gallery. Lets keep the pockets zipped on those politicians.

love the gritty background

Great that they are having a gallery there. Their work seems cut out for them! Nice urban gritty shot here. Enjoy your adventures down there.

Hope the gallery is a great success, it is a perfect backdrop for your gas mask shenanigans.

Stand tall and proud for ART!

well who can this be? Well you are careless you spread the flake to the walls - very inconsiderate of you
November 25th, 2015
@northy I have managed to keep a few...
@vignouse We did discuss potential exhibitionism but inevitably became side tracked...
@golftragic I may have to re-visit with my own chains
@bigugly They get far too much for far too little as it is!
@bill_fe I think it's glass bricks up in the ceiling...
@888rachel Thanks very much - it's something to look forward too
@kt8ird Thanks very much - and I do like shenanigans
@joysabin Damn straight
@annied I knew it was catching
November 25th, 2015
Nice one. I love your mask, so creepy.
November 25th, 2015
@kategoring Thanks very much - it's my "I'm off to work" mask
November 25th, 2015
I have questions. Many, many questions.
November 25th, 2015
I guess go "WooHoo!!! woot woot"!
November 25th, 2015
The saddest part is that we are paying for them too. You should keep an area of these chipped painting wall and frame it as the history of the gallery.
November 25th, 2015
@yaorenliu That's exactly what they plan to do - there's even an old kiln down there
@tracie8266 That seems reasonable
@kevin365 As do I my good man, as do I
November 25th, 2015
Man, not looking at yo at all, but at that wonderful peeling paint!
November 25th, 2015
@dibzgreasley Some of that may have been enhanced ;)
November 25th, 2015
A man with a plan :)
November 25th, 2015
What a great place! And a fitting capture, too!
November 25th, 2015
Love the texture on the wall.
November 25th, 2015
@nickspicsnz Thanks very much :)
@gazdi It's incredible, looking forward to seeing what else is hidden behind the walls
@hermann Me? I never plan...
November 25th, 2015
Well your counsellors sound like all counsellors the world over! They get the bit between their teeth & it's all self. Glad to see you are still being as daft as ever, I have missed your shots lately, need more time!
November 25th, 2015
@happypat I'll never stop being daft...it's the only way to make it through the day!
