Sculpture by graemestevens

Sculpture

Almost every day there is a different sculpture at the beaches, whether made by human hands or not. This one seems to have perfect placement.
Absolutely better on black.
FAB!

Now this, my dear Sir, is nothing short of spectacular: composition, PoV and (for a change!) a light and sensitive treatment all work together to make this a superb image.

What?

You want all this praise and a Fav as well?

Oh, all right then!

@photographycrazy Thank you very much indeed :)
@amandal Sometimes I can get it right ;)
@vignouse Blimey, that's very generous of you - I had no intention of being both light and sensitive but it is Friday...

Now you can dust off the sand and give a high five to anybody around - nobody? All frightened off? Super POV! fav

Excellent framing of this picturesque mountain, which I was admiring in the other shot. The textures in the weathered wood are very nicely captured and processed.
December 11th, 2015
I love the sculptural quality. Pure line and shape. So good.
December 11th, 2015
Oh the framing!! Super sculpture and I happen to think it's fabulous you get to see different ones every time you go... This image is just beautiful. Quite a mount you've got there.

OK - you win - must be time for me to head back to the 'Naki to try for some more shots like this! You will be interested to know that an image of the Len Lye centre got me top image at Camera Club the other night. It was one taken inside, of the shadows on the wall from the four fountain sculptures. Ha.d a couple of empty chairs against the wall to add a bit more interest. I didn't wear my cardigan, or sit in the front row either….
December 11th, 2015
ooops - so busy boasting, that I forgot to fav it!

December 11th, 2015
@yrhenwr I'd love to claim all the credit but one of the many local peasants had been here before me and built it. Knowing my luck I'm about to be sued for plagiarism

Absolutely, perfectly framed mountain, and wonderful driftwood sculpture!! Big FAV! I would be carting some of that said driftwood home for some sculptures of my own! ;-))
December 17th, 2015
@panthora There's a beach not far from here that is more driftwood than sand - that's where we go to get our supply. I'm fascinated by the shapes and forms
