On a day where the shaking will not stop, this is all you're getting. There has been no substantial damage where we live but the aftershocks continue to roll through.
Awesome minimalistic shot Graeme - and that's got to be unsettling, all those aftershocks...
November 14th, 2016
So crazy, I would be so nervous. What a fantastic image as always
November 14th, 2016
nicely minimal
November 14th, 2016
Yikes! That must be terrifying.
November 14th, 2016
Glad to hear you and yours are ok. Rock and Roll! Love the double meaning.
November 14th, 2016
Good to hear you missed the brunt of it. I hope all continues to be well.
November 14th, 2016
P.S. Love the minimalism.
November 14th, 2016
@epcello Thanks very much - you just end up putting up with it. We're far enough away from the epicentres for no substantial damage but it's still a bit nerve wracking!
@karlow75 It is good to hear...and thank you
@joysabin Thank you very much :)
@annied Minimally nice too...
@shylaine3304 We're far enough from the epicentres that there's been no substantial damage but it just gets to a point where it's tiring and annoying
@kerosene Thank you very much - what can you do though? Ride it out...I've been under a few door frames lately...
November 14th, 2016
I was thinking about you this morning, but figured you were far enough away from Christchurch to be OK. Those poor buggers have already had enough, life is most unfair.
November 14th, 2016
cool shot. my family give me shit for photographing dead bugs. especially the one where i arranged a bunch of dead flies into a circle. perhaps i'll frame that one and give it my sister for xmas.. And yes, the shaking was quite exciting. at least i got the day off work I suppose. Wgtn CBD was a no-go zone today
November 14th, 2016
@katrinanz Yes, my head office was completely shut so it was a very quiet day...and I know what you mean, I get all sorts of hassles when I photograph dead things, more so when I rearrange them!
@golftragic You have to feel for them - now major damage here but it's certainly not pretty down south
November 14th, 2016
@graemestevens No, I've just looked at a bunch of photos on Twitter. Looks terrible down there.
November 14th, 2016
Quite a powerful image given the quakes that are happening there.
November 14th, 2016
Stay safe. And cool photo.
November 14th, 2016
Minimalistic and high key. Cool capture.
Not pleasant to be having earthquakes and after shocks. They can be scary. We live in an area that gets tremors pretty much monthly. No big earthquakes. The last one was around 4 on the Richter scale and was last December. No major damage or injuries but enough to knock things off shelves and pictures off the wall. Decidedly minimal compared to what is happening in New Zealand!
November 14th, 2016
So glad you are okay. Must be unnerving.
November 14th, 2016
cooooooooooooooooooooooooool!
November 14th, 2016
@olenadole Thank you very much :)
@motherjane We're a fair distance from the epicentre so no substantial damage but the aftershocks have been rolling through all day.
@salza I'm pretty sure that the South Island would love a 4 right now - the aftershocks are still coming and will for a long while yet!
@scotthouston Thank you very much - on both counts
@taffy Thank you very much
November 14th, 2016
Effective minimalism, I like it. Gosh for aftershocks, can´t imagine those cos never experienced but hope they will pass soon
November 14th, 2016
Curious enough that antipodal New Waeladn and Italy are shaking more or less at the same time... Glad to know you and your family are safe. And superb photo, as always!
November 14th, 2016
@susale They're saying they'll continue for maybe 3 months...there's been another 4 in the last 5 minutes or so that we've felt.
@domenicododaro Thank you very much - it's all connected though, so if you give one plate a nudge the others will have a rumble as well.
November 14th, 2016
@graemestevens Really? Hoe can you take that?
November 14th, 2016
My friend lives outside Christchurch & had just moved back into their home they had rebuilt. Not heard news about the house yet. So sad, I travelled around NZ (years ago!!) & can safely say it's the most beautiful country. Hope everyone there stays safe.
November 14th, 2016
I'm not a fan of bug shots.. but i like your use of white space!
November 14th, 2016
Love the negative space and the placement, hope you all continue to be safe
November 14th, 2016
Dead mosquitos are my favorite kind! I do like these particular kind of minimalist shots. Hope all continues to be well.
November 14th, 2016
cool. hope that shaking gets itself sorted quickly and stops
November 14th, 2016
I hope the shaking ceases soon :)
November 14th, 2016
Glad to hear no major issues with the quake and after shocks.
Nice minimalist image, love how you've captured the patterns in the wings.
November 14th, 2016
Really cool, Graeme!
November 14th, 2016
Haha... love the title in conjunction with the image!!
November 14th, 2016
First thing I thought when I heard of the quake , was what is Graeme up to now...fav for this...
November 14th, 2016
@jack4john Oh you know, just rattling the cage a little....and thank you
@kwind Thank you very much :)
@kevinrudzinski Thank you very much :)
@bill_fe Thank you very much - no substantial damage, just a damn good ride
@hermann You and me both!
@pistache If I have anything to do with it it will!
@kt8ird I like them dead as well, and thank you :)
@jesperani Thank you very much :)
@brigette Thank you - just look at the white space then ;)
@jclaireyp Christchurch seems to be okay, this one was centred further north at Kaikoura (which is still cut off due to the roads being torn apart)!
@susale It won't be too bad where we are but it just gets to the point where you ignore the smaller tremors...
November 14th, 2016
@graemestevens Yes, all safe & sound. They felt it but still standing thankfully. Poor Kaikoura though...
November 14th, 2016
Fantastic capture. Hope all is well. Saw it on the news - terrifying.
November 14th, 2016
The fav is for the image and not for any sympathy for you living in a gorgeous paradise that has the occasional shake. In all seriousness standing in a doorway is meant to be good or was that from nuclear attack. Keep safe.
November 14th, 2016
@paul10 Thanks very much - we're okay where we are but the South Island has taken a bit of a beating
@pasttheirprime We spent a lot of time under our doorway on Friday morning. It was then that I realised it could do with repainting ;)
November 14th, 2016
Stay safe! Hope he weather improves in your neck of the woods soon xx
November 14th, 2016
My thoughts are with all who suffer from the devastation. I'm very glad you're all right. I wish you all the best!
November 14th, 2016
Fav for the shot!
November 14th, 2016
@jerome Thank you very much :)
@psychographer Thank you - not good weather at all!!!
November 15th, 2016
Hoping for a safe outcome! Prayers!
November 15th, 2016
@tjsworld Thank you very much - we're okay where we are but the South Island and Wellington have taken a pounding from the earthquakes, and today they have flooding and severe weather!
November 15th, 2016
I love the minimalism of this shot. Do hope you continue to be safe with all the seismic activity over there.
November 15th, 2016
@888rachel Thanks very much - we're okay where we are, but Wellington and the South Island now have severe weather and flooding!!!
November 15th, 2016
Hope you stay safe! Love this shot!
November 15th, 2016
@harbie Thank you very much, on both counts
November 15th, 2016
We don't need any more than this - superb minimalism. Stay in the open and drink wine!
November 15th, 2016
Fantastic - saw this and was drawn to it, came back a second time and realised it was yours! Wow! Keep safe - something I think you don't plan to do all that often.
November 15th, 2016
I'll admit to taking photos of dead bugs/flies. Maybe I should post a few in the future and I'm glad to read/hear you are okay.
November 15th, 2016
@novab Thank you very much - I quite often photograph dead bugs...
@cottiac Thank you so much - every now and then I'll do something "different"...
@vignouse Oh I've been drinking plenty of wine...now I'm not sure where the shaking is coming from....
November 15th, 2016
@graemestevens You always do 'different' but I get what you mean ☺
November 15th, 2016
If I didn't follow you I would never have known about this. 365 is the only place I get the news at the moment because its all so bleak out there and I just can't take any more! I expect a response from you in which you shake your fist at the fates. Glad you are only shaken... better than this poor little fellow for whom it was all too much.
November 16th, 2016
@yrhenwr I tend to avoid the news at the moment as well - it is all rather glum and depressing. I only knew about the earthquakes because I was in them....
