the bitch by graemestevens

the bitch

This shot was taken 4 hours south of home, although I am looking back towards home - this the "tail" of tropical cyclone Debbie and she's a bitch...she also caught up with me about 2 hours after taking this shot, so I should probably stop calling her names.
As an aside, this is also a colour image - the only thing I've done is a little bit of lens correction and a crop.
Just watched a video of it hitting Australia. Nasty.

Lovely photo though! ( what is 'lens correction?)

Even her tail looks menacing.
April 9th, 2017
She certainly has an agenda :)

Mother Nature has very good hearing..... Hope all is okay there.
April 9th, 2017
Love the tones and contrasts.
April 9th, 2017
Love the sky!

Great POV for this wide seascape! As I said before the sea looks quite calm in spite of Debbie!
April 9th, 2017
Hope you were safely inside when she reached you! Incredible non-colors!
April 10th, 2017
It looks like it still had some force when Debbie got to you. Great shot.
April 10th, 2017
Yep, one helluva bitch that one. Love your colour shot that's just about monotone, tells its own story.

My family and I were in Cyclone Tracey in the 70's. I was only three and remember it like yesterday. Unfortunately for our family we lost my cousin in the floods that happened after Debbie hit.
April 10th, 2017
Wow! She does look bitchy
April 10th, 2017
@jgpittenger She was a nasty piece of work.
@nicolecampbell So sorry to hear that :(
@golftragic Thank you very much - she was far from being a nice lady
@888rachel She did indeed...wind, rain, more wind
@domenicododaro I was indeed, although I may have stepped out once or twice for a quick look
@maggiemae Thank you very much - I dare say it got a bit rougher when she arrived
@kwind Thanks very much :)
@hubmom Thank you very much :)
@joysabin All is well...and I was whispering ;)
@hermann And she didn't deviate from it either...
@lynbonn I managed to sleep through most of it ;)
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you very much - I used a wide angle lens so in Lightroom I had to correct the "bend" from that lens to that I didn't have a curved horizon
@chillen They got it far worse than we did...

Sam
@graemestevens TWAT knobs
April 10th, 2017
Rolling in and you caught it and she caught you. Even.
April 10th, 2017
@gigiflower poo poo head
@yaorenliu She certainly did catch me
April 10th, 2017
Sam
@graemestevens I love a poo poo
April 10th, 2017
it was a bit wet
April 10th, 2017
Terrific shot, very moody looking sky.
April 10th, 2017
very atmospheric, nice one
April 10th, 2017
@jesperani Thank you very much :)
@paul10 Thanks awfully :)
@brigette Just a tad...
April 10th, 2017
Oh wow - glad you said this is a colour image. I had to look twice! And - oh my, so subtle! Lovely and fav.
April 10th, 2017
@kareenking Thank you very much - she certainly wasn't subtle when she arrived!
April 10th, 2017
I sure didn't realise it was a colour photo. It was a huge weather event everywhere it went it would seem. We were overseas when it hit...broke the frame of one of the glass doors allowing the glass to lurch open...didnt fall luckily. Let a lot of water in...door sealed within 24 hours..but the worst would have been during the 3 hours it took to pass. I see they have called it a once in a hundred year cyclone here..

Kas
Love the title. And that is some storm brewing there.
April 10th, 2017
Nice shot!
April 11th, 2017
You won't thank us for the cold fronts now headed your way now. We even had 30cm snow on the Alps.
April 11th, 2017
@golftragic I quite enjoy the cold fronts actually...much more preferable to this summer lark
@harbie Thank you very much :)
@wag864 Thank you and yes, it certainly let us know it was around
@hrs They're calling in a once in 100 year event here as well....that's 2 in the last 4 weeks and another one to come this week!
April 11th, 2017
@graemestevens This lot dropped the temp by 15 degrees in dot seconds. And the wind was fearsome too.
April 11th, 2017
@golftragic It sounds like perfect weather to be standing on a hill top looking all "Heathcliff"
April 11th, 2017
@graemestevens Definitely!
April 11th, 2017
Instant fav because well, it's awesome! Naturally guffawed at the title... I do believe you did ok with her?
April 16th, 2017
@kerosene We were fine, just a tad damp
