This shot was taken 4 hours south of home, although I am looking back towards home - this the "tail" of tropical cyclone Debbie and she's a bitch...she also caught up with me about 2 hours after taking this shot, so I should probably stop calling her names.
As an aside, this is also a colour image - the only thing I've done is a little bit of lens correction and a crop.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
My family and I were in Cyclone Tracey in the 70's. I was only three and remember it like yesterday. Unfortunately for our family we lost my cousin in the floods that happened after Debbie hit.
@jgpittenger She was a nasty piece of work. @nicolecampbell So sorry to hear that :( @golftragic Thank you very much - she was far from being a nice lady @888rachel She did indeed...wind, rain, more wind @domenicododaro I was indeed, although I may have stepped out once or twice for a quick look @maggiemae Thank you very much - I dare say it got a bit rougher when she arrived @kwind Thanks very much :) @hubmom Thank you very much :) @joysabin All is well...and I was whispering ;) @hermann And she didn't deviate from it either... @lynbonn I managed to sleep through most of it ;) @30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you very much - I used a wide angle lens so in Lightroom I had to correct the "bend" from that lens to that I didn't have a curved horizon @chillen They got it far worse than we did...
I sure didn't realise it was a colour photo. It was a huge weather event everywhere it went it would seem. We were overseas when it hit...broke the frame of one of the glass doors allowing the glass to lurch open...didnt fall luckily. Let a lot of water in...door sealed within 24 hours..but the worst would have been during the 3 hours it took to pass. I see they have called it a once in a hundred year cyclone here..
@golftragic I quite enjoy the cold fronts actually...much more preferable to this summer lark @harbie Thank you very much :) @wag864 Thank you and yes, it certainly let us know it was around @hrs They're calling in a once in 100 year event here as well....that's 2 in the last 4 weeks and another one to come this week!
