in a complete break with everything I stand for, street photography (1)

Yesterday I was dragged along to the monthly "Seaside Market" to admire a fine collection of crocheted doilies and knitted toilet roll covers. Such fun. These two waited 15 minutes for a coffee, as did I...and it was mediocre at best.
Oh no! The wait would have been bearable had it been good coffee.

Knitted toilet roll?! And mediocre coffee too. All well in the world then!
May 7th, 2017
i hope you bought the toilet roll cover could be a great prop! see this weeks 5+2 later ;P

That barrista looks psychotic.

Fun times :)

🙄

You do realise that toilet rolls get cold in the bathroom? Just look at that guy's hair - one wonders what is hidden in the middle of it!
May 7th, 2017
I like your street photography!
May 7th, 2017
I am impressed that you actually know of crocheted doilies... did you buy any?
May 7th, 2017
I used to think anything could be enjoyed with a camera in your hand - until I read your description of the afternoon. Liking the shot.
May 8th, 2017
Nice urban gritty feel you have created with your processing.
May 8th, 2017
A nice street candid. Good capture of the dreadlocks.
May 8th, 2017
Great power of threes, dreadlock, interaction, high contrast shot!
May 8th, 2017
Always need toilet roll covers. Never know when you might run out of ass wipe and be able to use one. But I would never wait that long for coffee. Nice shot.
May 8th, 2017
This is interesting because the price is the same on most of his products? Really cool processing.
May 8th, 2017
Mediocre or not, after very long looking at lace doilies I'd think one would need coffee, if not something stronger.
May 8th, 2017
Wot, no crocheted coat-hangers? I'm surprised you didn't need something far stronger than coffee after that surfeit of doilies.

@golftragic I went straight home for a whisky...or 4
@gardencat You're not wrong there ;)
@habit Yes, I don't why he bothered...

@jclaireyp Thank you kindly :)
@maggiemae I "dread" to think...
@brigette :)
@hermann No, not really ;)
@chillen I'll show him psychotic!
@kali66 Oh dear...
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Yes, somethings are just too odd...
@salza It would have to be the best coffee this side of the black stump to justify both the wait and the market ;)
May 8th, 2017
Welcome to the genre and I cannot stand the disappointment of mediocre coffee. That is rather a bid deal to me.
May 8th, 2017
Sam
Your processing is cool!
May 8th, 2017
@gigiflower I thank you from the heart of my bottom. Oh wait...
@yaorenliu Thank you and no, neither can I...don't build me up to bring me crashing down again
May 8th, 2017
Oh dear, such a shame to find underwhelming quality coffee from a mobile food stall! Great light in this shot although the dreadlocks do make me feel rather queasy xx
May 8th, 2017
Crocheted doilies, oh yes let me have some, its been too long! Run a series: alone, en mass, with fire, skulls skeletons and Stevens.
May 8th, 2017
love the tonal range and the super real quality you have brought to this image
May 8th, 2017
great processing. suffering for your art once again, i see
May 8th, 2017
Could we sue him for abuse of "Espresso" naming?
May 8th, 2017
So why this photo? No toilet roll covers? Great shot.
May 8th, 2017
@johnfalconer Even I refuse to take a shot of that travesty!
@domenicododaro We probably could - he did pronounce it "expresso"
@pistache Thank you and yes, once more unto the breach and all that
@hrs Thank you very much :)
@yrhenwr Funnily enough, my first thought was "lets burn them"
@psychographer I have never liked dread locks...
May 8th, 2017
Sorry the coffee was mediocre but the shot is great even if out of your comfort zone...hard to let other people be kings?
May 8th, 2017
@jgpittenger I can't even see my comfort zone from where I took this shot. I kept wanting to burn it all!!!
May 8th, 2017
Expresso... holy cow! This guy will be rejected at hell's entrance because they lack an appropriate eternal pain for that!
May 8th, 2017
I love this photo. I think keep doing this genre for a bit. Fabulous processing.
May 8th, 2017
Good man, excellent treatment for just about anything.
May 9th, 2017
@dkbarnett Thank you very much - we shall see
@domenicododaro Yes indeed...
May 9th, 2017
Much like everyone, I can't wait for your doilies series. :)
May 9th, 2017
@humphreyhippo You may be waiting a while - I haven't yet received word of anywhere freezing over...
May 9th, 2017
Kas
But what a great piece of social journalism you have created. Worth the mediocre coffee IMO.
May 9th, 2017
I had to go back to look at the first in your series!! LOL
May 10th, 2017
@harbie I'm shocked that you didn't see it first time around ;)
@wag864 Thank you very much :)
