The first shot from the new camera, an Olympus E-M10 MkII.
For a substantial learning curve, try getting a new camera, one that is far superior and capable of so much more than your old one.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
I like the way that it's easy to I magine that this field of maize recedes into infinity... maize and sky, sky and maize forever. Enjoy the new acquisition - you work, you deserve!
I have been meaning to contact you! I'm thinking of ditching my system to go mirrorless. I want an a9 Sony, but I can't even come close to affording that! This system seems doable. I was looking at it today with a 12-40 and a 40-150 lens (2.8). I'm so tempted. I need a camera to do portrait work and to handle some sports photography (which i'll be doing for about 2 more years). Otherwise, I'm looking to put money into a 24-70 art lens for my 7DMii and a cheap zoom to do the sports. Should I ditch my excellent crop sensor for which I can't buy the expensive lenses and go mirrorless? That's the question!!!! Congrats. And excellent first post.
@mona65 Thank you very much :)
Thank you very much - I also bought an adaptor so that I can continue to use my Canon optics, as well as the 12-40 and 40-150 lenses that come with the Olympus. from my limited use of it thus far it's certainly capable of so much more than my Canon was/is and at half of the price of an equivalent model in Canon. @vignouse Thank you kindly - it does go on forever. If you turn around you should see it right behind you. @bokehdot Thank you very much :) @lyndamcg Thanks very much :) @jclaireyp I'm like that as well - a year from now I'll find a new button... @novab Thank you very much - who knows what strange and wonderful things it will see... @joansmor Thank you kindly ;) @maggiemae It's definitely maize...although our corn is now ready. @fotoblah Thank you very much - I had to stand on my car to get high enough for this shot. @silverhorn Thank you so much :)
@darylo I made the shift from Canon (7DII) to Fujifilm about 18 months ago and have never regretted it. Some pros and cons (partly due to learning a new system). I kept the Canon for 12 months 'just in case', but then sold the camera and lenses on eBay for OK prices. If you decide to keep the Canon and want a cheap zoom lenses sing out. I have a Tamron 16-300mm here (Canon mount) in perfect condition and going cheap to friends.
@golftragic Oh Marnie! I just ordered the newer 18-400 tamron deciding not to go Mirrorless and stick with my stuff. I might be able to return it if you are serious about selling. I'll reach out to you via email (think I have it!). I also ordered the 24-70 2.8 Tamron (older version to keep cost down). That one I really need. My "zoom" died about 2 years ago or more, and I need something flexible for running around so the 18-300 or 400 will do the trick there I think.
I have an Olympus... and yes... a learning curve... but so worth it!
@joannakate It's driving me insane...curse this OCD ;)
