dog days

Sometimes we hang out with dogs.
Yesterday was the monthly Taranaki Greyhound walk, where we all gather for a group walk followed by afternoon tea. It's not as dignified as it sounds.
This month it was at one of the owner's farm so the hounds had the opportunity to run, run run.
This photo suggests that we're rather high on a hillside, somewhere on a hilly dry stock farm. We are.
Although we no longer have our Wiz and Lucy we still attend - I seem to be the official photography and Mrs S is the baker. It works and we get our hound fix.
This particular beastie is Jenny, a very close friend of ours through our friendship with her "parents".
A win/win for everyone. A nice pic too.

What an amazing place to be able to have fun with hounds. Wonderful that you are still involved with these magnificent animals. Maybe one day one will find his/her perfect humans in the Stevens household.

@vignouse Flattery will get you...almost everywhere, I do have some standards...oh who am I kidding?!?
@gardenfolk Thanks very much - the muzzle is because most greyhounds, when running as a pack, tend to nip at each others flanks out of both playfulness and a desire to be first ;) They're not trained killers, just competitive!

@graemestevens Thank for the information on greyhounds. I did not know this interesting fact.
