i don't often post two images, but when I do...

the other one is available here, in glorious technicolour:

Best on black I suspect.
Great image.

As usual a splendid look at the wild coast! Don't know about this wreck - its so obvious! fav

@maggiemae Thanks very much :)
@shylaine3304 Thank you so much - most of the time it's dumb luck masquerading as skill!
@dide Thank you very much :)
May 10th, 2020
I think this is my favourite with the wreck taking centre stage
May 10th, 2020
Both are great!

@jackies365 Thank you very much :)
@kjarn Thanks very much - I'm still undecided.
May 10th, 2020
I much prefer the B&W. But then I almost always much prefer the B&W.....
May 10th, 2020
@lsquared Thanks very much - I struggled with the processing on this one, hence the two images...and I'm still undecided!
May 10th, 2020
Crikey, what did he do??
May 10th, 2020
@golftragic Apparently he narrowly missed another ship, the Ngapuhi...personally I think he just couldn't parallel park ;)
May 10th, 2020
It's this one for me - even allowing for the slightly different composition this b&w one seems simpler and the wreck shape dominates the photo - what an amazing wreck

@jocasta Thanks very much :)
May 10th, 2020
wow, not a good move!
May 10th, 2020
@graemestevens Maybe spliced the main-brace once too often?
May 10th, 2020
Lovely - but i can't help feeling it's lost its gutsy look? Almost like a very nice painting here. :)
May 10th, 2020
Also very good. I think the composition works better in this one but still prefer the feeling of the other one! I'm difficult to please! Fav

Great atmospheric shot. The scene itself is glorious, and with the foreground interest of the wreck the image becomes alive.
May 10th, 2020
love it. B&W for me.
May 10th, 2020
Like them both but prefer this one
May 10th, 2020
Awesome.
May 11th, 2020

@gardenfolk Thanks very much :)
@spanner Thank you kindly :)
@fbailey Thank you very much :)
@helenhall I think I'm leaning that way as well...
@gamelee Thank you very much :)
@rjb71 You are difficult...I shall have to have a sit down and a deep breath ;)
@robz Thanks very much :)
@koalagardens Most definitely not....but it's too late now

Spooky, evocative, intriguing, unusual, artfully processed - they all apply here.
May 11th, 2020
I've gone back and forth between the two images, and here, I can more clearly focus on the shipwreck. (and I feel less nervous as a viewer)
May 11th, 2020
Yes, out of the two excellent images, I would choose this slightly above the colour, and composition of the other.
May 11th, 2020
@markp Thanks very much :)
@jyokota I like that I have the ability to make you nervous...
@juliedduncan Thank ya ma'am :)
May 12th, 2020
@graemestevens - - Ha! But now that I've seen you with a friendly smile, too, I know you have the capacity to also put people at ease with your smile (should you have revealed that side???)
May 12th, 2020
@jyokota That may have been a mistake....
May 12th, 2020
@graemestevens -- I know -- we all know your style and equate it with who you ARE. But now, your secret is out! (says the person who hides behind a Studio Ghibli sun logo)
May 12th, 2020
Even more fabulouser!
May 17th, 2020
@vignouse Even more thankier ;)
