Apologies to Vermeer the original artist. After seeing his painting recently I was struck with how much my granddaughter looked like her and HAD to try and recreate it. I used fabric my daughter had set aside for sewing and she held the backdrop for me as I took the shot. It was a real family effort!
Look who is back! The best news of the day. I have missed you. How are you doing? This is a fantastic shot with an amazing resemblance to the painting. Vermeer definitely would approve it.
HIP HIP HURRAY .... Do you see me doing the HAPPY DANCE !!!
I got a shot of the poster in San Francisco on a light pole at night and she does look amazing like it.
Oh my gosh, Katy! She DOES look like the painting! You did a fabulous job! You have a good eye like that...like when I asked if you'd take my pic in front of that BIG wall version and you saw that if you gave me a few directions, it would force perspective my face into the painting. This is awesome! i am still going to do a "still life" that I got inspired to do! I have collected my "life" just gotta' arrange it. Haha
@espyetta I am REALLY glad that YOU like it MB. that is the seal of approval I was looking for. Thanks so much and looking forward to your "Dutch Master" photo.
@grammyn That museum trip just lit my fire for some things I can shoot. I have that still life to do, and then one day when I am really hurting for a pic, I'll shoot that Magnet you gave me,with the "Magnetic Poetry" I made under it. Sounds like when you come back, we need to do the rest of the "regular" exhibits at the High Musuem...Daryl said she preferred it over the Dutch Masters, and I loved that.

Very well done!
