Originally this was supposed to be a shot for the one night stand challenge which technically was yesterday's theme of action, long story there, but after I took it I realized 51 years ago today was the assassination of JFK. For many it is only a piece of history, but for those of you who were alive then you will never forget what you were doing when you heard the news.
the news reached us in the morning. i remember the whole compound's rather still with the adults glued to the radios. my mother was crying along with two other neighbours. when i asked her why she was crying, she said that kennedy was killed and i wondered if she knew him personally. a few years before that our president died in a plane crash and she also cried at the time. i had wondered then if she also cried when abraham lincoln was killed. the mind of a nine-year old, you know. very nice shot, my friend. must tag it for the technique challenge.
Always great to see the American flag waving in the air. Great capture of it. I was little so I don't remember very clear. JFK had been visiting my country just a few months earlier and he was very loved by our people, so I remember the talk with sorrow at home among the family members.
I was in seventh grade in our Catholic grade school. Someone came to the classroom door and spoke to the teacher, who was a very devout man. Before we even had time to absorb the news he imparted to us, he had us down on our knees praying. No, I will never forget.
Nice shot. I agree with @summerfield You should tag it for the technique challenge -- technique34
Beautiful shot! At school, I believe on lunch break and a group of us were coming up the stairs when we heard. Funny I remember exactly where I was, but not who else was with me.
@marilyn I was just comiing out of chorus and like you I can't remeber who else was there. I remember standing in front of the heater in mom and dad's room later watching the TV .
