Wild Blue Yonder

This buzzard circled the field we were near for several minutes without ever flapping his wings. He kept gliding around and around riding the thermals in the area. Eventually he landed very near us and then put on a show. http://365project.org/grammyn/themes-and-comp/2015-10-11 Although this looks like a PS edit it is SOOC

@lesip @olivetreeann @marilyn @deb60 @tunia @kwiksilver @linnypinny Thanks so much for all your comments and the FAV Lin! This bird, a Turkey Vulture or turkey buzzard has a wingspan of 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 feet according to the Peregrine Fund which is a group trying to conserve birds of prey around the world. All l know is when he passed overhead his shadow was so big at first I thought it was a plane!

His wingspan is amazing!! Cool capture Katy! Was he soaring over you for his next collapsed meal? Lol.

@cjphoto isn't he an awesome bird thanks Chris! He was soaring over me but I'm not certain he thought I was going to be his next meal! I seriously doubt he could've lifted me up!
