Before The Storm by grammyn

Before The Storm

A serious thunderstorm moved through today. Right before it arrived I realized I hadn't taken a picture yet for the day so went outside and was obliged by this dragon fly. I wonder where the bugs go when there is a downpour?
So cool! He's a big one too! Rarely see these where I live. Love the amazing detail you captured on his wings. My guess is they find shelter under a big leaf or something.

He looks really big! I guess they go under leaves, into bark somewhere of back to their hive if they're a bee. Nice shot!

They probably carry umbrellas just in case! Great shot!

in the old country, we knew it was going to rain when the dragonflies wee in abundance, mostly during mid-afternoon. then they disappeared after the rain, and i guessed they must've all been drown during the heavy downpour or struck by lightning.

Beautiful capture. I do think they can sense the storms and have their own secret hiding places.
