You were more directly in the path...how wonderful this is! I was happy enough to capture what I did, but at the rate I'm uploading past photos, I should have this one up by Christmas!
I should have done that when my neighbor leant me her glasses for a few moments- but I got an eclipse shot of a different kind instead (and saw it through my pinhole viewer the rest of the time). Awesome!!
@alophoto How strange I didn't even think about ruining my camera. It is a bridge though so maybe not so sensitive? Appreciate your enthusiasm so much @summerfield Thanks girlfriend. I thought yours was too @froggie0628 Thanks bunches. Glad you got to see a bit of it anyway @darylo Way to kind especially coming from you! thanks @Weezilou LOL! Thanks Louise. looking forward to seeing yours at Christmas! ;~} @777margo So nice of you MArgo thansk so much @lisahans So sorry. That must have been frustrating! Thanks for your kind words @olivetreeann I hadn't planned on trying but one of our daughters gave me some glasses so I thought why not? Thanks for your nice comment and enthusiasm
haha...got my note from Ross that I haven't been posting, so I decided to put it on display with all the rest...fun to see how everyone approached the opportunity on this momentous occasion!
Yours is so sharp!! While it was crescent I was shooting with glasses on and then trying to hold another set of glasses in front of my lens. It was very hit and miss! Those glasses are so dark!
@linnypinny I hadn't even planned on trying but i'm glad I did. Thanks so much Lin @Weezilou I really like the one you posted and I'm so grateful I didn't have to wait until Christmas! @francoise I think I got lucky. It is fabulous to see all the different ways people have caught it. @m9f9l I got several that weren't quite as sharp so I was really happy to see this one. It was definitely a challenge to get the logistics right. @bill_fe I appreciate that so much Bill. Thank you
What a spectacular crescent! This is a TOTALLY awesome non-total shot -- my friend experimented a bit to see if that would work. I was scared to try so contented myself with people shots.
Stunning! What I read about destroying camera sensors was taking direct shots, not with using the glasses. We had cloud cover so didn't even get to see a partial or the cool shadows I saw from some of my friends' pics. I have a friend who was in the total area and the one pic I have seen (hopefully, just so far!) from her is fabulous.
@dawnee Thank you so much. So glad you like it! @mcsiegle Aside from worrying about my eyes I didn't even think I might damage the camera. Thanks so much Mary @cdonohoue quite an honor coming form you Cathy Thanks so very much @maggiemae I am glad I forgot to listen to anyone about this . I probably would never have done this if I had. I appreciate your approval MM @marilyn good to know my ignorance is covered! ;~} Thanks bunches. So sorry you missed it....next one?♥ @tunia So glad you like it. I am so old l figured I had little to lose! ;~} @merawl So generous of you MER. I envy you that opportunity. @nicolecampbell You are far too kind in that assessment Nicole. Thanks! @darsphotos So nice of you Darlene. I didn't think your shot was sad at all. I wish I had thought of it! @cjphoto Ah, Chris I really appreciate your approval. The orange comes from the high ISO I think
@grammyn Mine was a suggestion on tv, last minute totally. Just glad hubby was home to hold the colander. You are so sweet. Hope you are doing well. Wish I took this photo.
Very nice job! We sat in the screen porch... Dan, me, and Zoey my new puppy. We were in 98% area. It got so dark and quiet.... cicadas stopped buzzing and birds stopped chirping. Dogs started barking. I took video... maybe I will post one.
@espyetta that must've been awesome! I'm going to assume you were at the lake? When I lived in Washington state it was very much the same in 1979. I definitely remember the birds, we didn't have cicadas!
@summerfield Thanks girlfriend. I thought yours was too
