Fashion Statement?

It is a sure sigh of my old age when l see hair colored like this and ask why. Not even blonde but a bright taxicab yellow color!

A nice portrait. He's got gorgeous eyes. Your description calls attention to the bright hair color, so I'm curious...what influenced the decision to process as B&W? (which works very nicely for this portrait in general BTW)
