As the bamboo leaves float slowly to the ground, occasionally boosted by a gentle breeze, and the deep croak of the bullfrogs is accented by the higher pitched chirp of lesser frogs, I walk the peaceful trail in search of this scene I found on an earlier trip, perfect for my last half and half shot for a while and my last trip to the park perhaps until next year.
in the old country, our property was bordered to the east by a copse of bamboo trees. all kinds of supernatural stories came from folks on the underside, as well as other locals seeing "things" at night. while i loved to watch out for the young bamboo shoots, which my father would cut for our dinner, my fear of those bamboo trees were the snakes that made their home there, particularly one that is small and takes on the colour of the bamboo, and that one is to be avoided at all costs, as they're deadly poisonous, like instant poisonous. i'd be sooooo afraid to walk around there. yaiks! your composition is bang on for the halfnhalf thingie. aces!
