When I was growing up we always started school after Labor Day . For the last 30 years my children and grandchildren have started in August. It took Covid 19 to start school here after Labor Day and today was the first day for the students. It will be a year of firsts I think.
@dutchothotmailcom ours delayed because they are in class as well as on line. I am not quite sure how all of that works out Thanks Esther @shutterbug49 thanks Debbie. We did too. My grandchildren in NY state do the same. But my grandchildren in KY start in August. Both started around the same dates they did last year so no covid changes as far as that goes. However, how the classes are run is very different this year. In fact, the KY crew is home schooling because my son and dil thought the changes were so traumatic my grandsons wouldn't enjoy school anymore. (Each teacher was going to be teaching from behind a plexiglass shield with a mask, students would remain at their desks, masked, in one room for the entire day with no recess or lunch break and would be escorted to and from the doors when school started and ended. They felt it was like a prison and didn't think either boy would take well to it. The NY crew has class in school 2 days a week and 3 days at home. They alternate with other students who follow the opposite schedule and all students are home on Wed. 3 children in school and 3 different schools all following this rotating program. I'm wondering if my NY dil is going to be able to handle this!). All that to say this is a cute back to school door decoration.
Love the wreath! We are in person school and started earlier than usual because the county fair was cancelled. A few neighboring schools have been delayed this week because of a devastating fire near here. Now we are getting smoke from the California and Oregon fires... itโs not good here. ๐
@olivetreeann LOL! thanks and I enjoyed reading "all this" It is interesting to get first (maybe second) hand information about life in other parts of the country, @marilyn thank you. sorry to hear about the fallout from the fires. Our schools here are in person/stay at home optional. It makes it so confusing for everyone!
