When I went out to find a photo tonight the sun was highlighting the crepe myrtle. As I initially looked through the view finder it was out of focus and I wanted that shot but when I pushed the button it focused. I have a bridge camera that automatically focuses so getting a shot like this is not easy. This is exactly what I wanted it to be and I am happy with the way it turned out. This is SOOC except for a slight crop.
I do like the blurred effect very much because it reminds me of the Impressionists (my favorite artists) and the colors speak boldly of a garden. Nicely done! The only way I can get my Powershot to take an out of focus picture is to put it on manual (instead of AV for example).
@wyomingsis Thanks you so much I like that they turned out this color because my white balance was off. (they are actually lavender) @summerfield always with the outer space references! Are you sure you are of this planet?! Thanks bunches! @louannwarren You are so very kine to say so Lou Ann @ludwigsdiana thank you so much Diana I am glad you think so! @scoobylou I think that is what appealed to me about it Lana thanks @sdutoit I am so glad you do Thanks Sylvia @linnypinny thank you , I know! That is what I struggle with too. This was mostly luck! @randystreat thank you Kathy. That is what I liked about it too @tunia isn't that always the way? when I want it to be crisp I get blurry and when I want blurry I get crisp. The camera has a mind of its own sometimes @marilyn Well, as usual, your compliments are so uplifting too! Thanks bunches @olivetreeann Thanks Ann I think that is why I wanted it blurry because I like the impressionists too. This was on manual but even then there was a delay between the time I pushed the button and the shot actually happened for most of my attempts. The camera just wnated it to be in focus!
I remember one time a technique challenge of blurrism and with my bridge camera I used to use, the only way I could get the blur I wanted was to hold my finger up in front of the camera and focus on that then take my hand away and get the shot. But this even goes beyond that. Really beautiful.
@mcsiegle That is a really good suggestion Mary. I may remember to try that next time, then again I may not remember, but I like the idea. Thanks so much for your kind words.
