I love having a pool but abhor the innocent animals who lose their lives in the skimmer. My daughter recently told be about putting a board in the skimmer that provides an escape route for them. Most mornings now I go out and rescue anything that is clinging to the board. This morning it was a huge spider and several caterpillars among other things. I couldn't resist this before and after collage. The insets are after I took them out
Hooray! What a wonderful kind woman you are to save the little critters. Super photos of them! I'm sure they didn't mind two much your pausing for a tick to take their picture before effecting the rescue.

I'm the one who catches large insects in the house under a glass or bowl, slides a piece of paper or lightweight cardboard underneath and totes them outside where they belong rather than kill them. Cool story and photo Katy.
@stimuloog There are often frogs and geckos to Marloes thanks for the coment @olivetreeann LOL! it is funny, my grands tell all their friends when they come swim NOT to kill the bugs in the pool! They used to think I was crazy but now I think they like it!
