Road Construction

An easy collage today. This was happening in front of my house so all I had to do was sit on the porch and shoot! They stripped the road two weeks ago and it has been a mess but today they came through first with a layer of tar and then this contraption which the truck dumped asphalt into. It spreads it evenly on the prepared road and the guys in the back make sure everything is covered evenly before the steam roller comes along and presses it all down.
You had a great view of those men at work.

We had a new road surface installed in May, our street looks so nice now!

What a neat photo op! And free entertainment to boot.

Oh what fun! And how nice that you were able to just sit down and watch! (Email?)

Great shots of all these hard workers doing their thing. Hope they finished it.

Hopefully, they completed it quickly since it's right there at your house! Nicely captured.

@dutchothotmailcom @louannwarren @mcsiegle @wyomingsis @ludwigsdiana @serendypyty I confess this was a bit of a lazy shot. It was nice to just sit there and let it come to me. Our portion of the road is done but there is more in the neighborhood still unfinished so I should be getting some more entertainment soon. Thanks everyone for your nice comments!

@linnypinny This part is done but there is more to do in the neighborhood still.

Jeff used to do this with his father. It's great in the Fall but imagine doing it on a 90 degree day in the summer! Good men-at-work collage!

@olivetreeann That was all I could think of yesterday when I watched the steam rising from the road! I can't imagine doing it in 90 degree heat and 80% humidity! Thanks Ann

What I'm most happy to see about these two photos is that there are no "supervisors" standing around while a few work.

everyone's doing something! what a rare sight. 😊 hope there was not much inconvenience for the neighbourhood.

How kind of them to entertain you and provide you with great collage material!

@randystreat I noticed that as well and felt the same way, Kathy.
@summerfield it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience for us except we couldn’t park on the street as we normally do. They do 1/2 of the street and then go back and do the other so there can still be traffic moving through. I thought it was strange to see everyone working as well.
@marilyn I was thinking the same thing! Thank you so much
