My Own Tropical Island by grammyn

My Own Tropical Island

Well not really my own and maybe not even tropical! Another edit for the WWYD challenge! I used instruction from the new Photoshop group to do this. We have a wonderful group of people that are willing to share their expertise and I am going to try and learn something from them! See the original here : http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/24498/what-would-you-do-with-this-image-wwyd123-starting
very nice.

i couldn't get mine going. when i flip the layer, both would flip. it's making me flipping mad mind you.

Mine didn't work either @summerfield. I got it to flip but sides didn't match up exact. Tried twice and stopped. A little time messing with PS goes a looonnngg way. Your's turned out nice Katy.

@summerfield @slash i am using Gimp so this was probably beginner's luck! I intend to continue as long as i can make it work! I already tried a different picture and gave up because I couldnt' get it to do what I wanted.if I don't have step by step instruction I still suck apparently!

This turned out very nice, Katy. Sounds like my feelings on PS and Gimp... I need someone standing by giving me step-by-step directions or I get too frustrated and just give up. @summerfield @slash

@summerfield no wonder you are sick! You stay up late and get up early! Your body doesn't get enough rest to heal!!!

@grammyn - it's way past seven in the morning, that's not early.

Nice job with a different edit. The sun looks great, and the overlapping land areas work really well. Good work.

Hi everyone! Just a quick note when editing on layers. Keep in mind your layers are individual images laying on top of each other or stacked on a canvas. When you select a given layer (in photoshop) that is when the Edit tap tool is really comes into use and the commands work on that specific selected layer, not on the entire image. In the Image tap tool the Adjustment options work on that specific selected layer as well. So when you want to transform (or flip) a specific layer do it from the Edit tab, not from the Image tab. Hope this helps!
