Sorry to those of you who are squeemish but this one was not to be passed up. I poked my head outside to see if it was still raining and caught the motion of these two snakes out of the corner of my eye using my garden as their bedroom. It was fascinating to watch as the striped one continuously wrapped his tail around the other and moved in unison with it.
@maggiemae I am unsure if he was successful or not but he was sure trying to start a family! I was trying to figure out a way to keep her from seeing it but couldn't . @nicolecampbell LOL! I understand that but it doesn't bother me. Given the opportunity most snakes will run away from you adn are just afraid of us as we are of them
Nicely captured - oddly enough, i just had a discussion with a co-worker this afternoon about snakes - I really don't mind them, if I know they are not the biting kind - she did not feel the same way :)
This must be the week I am being "forced" to look at snakes at every turn. First this shot- and then they hung my picture in the gallery exhibit next to a pictures of snakes. Ugh- now I will only be able to look at it for a few seconds and then have to turn away! LOL
I wonder how many of your 365 followers/fans know you used to raise/breed snakes. I'm glad you preserved their modesty with this shot... if snakes have modesty!
@marilyn LOL! I imagine most people don't know. I really had nothing to do with preserving their modesty either. They were under the plants and I wasn't about to move them aside so I could see better! They hung around for quite a while. I have never seen this in the wild before so it was really exciting. I HAVE seen it in captivity. I actually have an incredibly unique shot that's much more personal than even this one is somewhere
