Not haze, but smoke by granagringa

Not haze, but smoke

The smoke is so thick here in Salem, Oregon, from forest fires both to the north and south of us. The table on the balcony was covered in ash, the air quality is poor and the aroma of being in a campground. Some of the fires were started naturally, lightening strikes, others by humans throwing fire crackers into the tinder-dry woods.
Nature can do enough damage without help

This looks really bad Madeline - are the fires under control now? It must be dreadful for asthmatics!

@joansmor @ribbet9 @yrhenwr @robz @jorlam thank you all for your comments and concern...here in Salem we actually very safe and not all that close to the burns as are many here in Oregon...only a few smokey days.

@stimuloog @marcy0414 We've been pretty lucky avoiding the worst of the smoke here...so many places are so much worse. Thanks for your kind words about the shot and the situation.
