Union Street Bridge by granagringa

Union Street Bridge

Another for the nf-sooc-2017 challenge..nifty-fifty and straight out of camera with no processing.

I really like how this makes me work in camera...I find myself really looking at the image more closely, especially around the edges of the frame. good for my self-discipline.
This is a mighty bridge with this structure!

a fabulous subject containing so many leading lines and other interests.. love the person(?) just over the hump and the foliage hiding some of the blank sky.. the fallen leaves give added interest in the foreground too.. absolutely brilliant PoV.. mono? perfect gradation.

Monumental!

This is so good - whereever you start looking you always end up at the tiny little arch at the back. And your SOOC image needs absolutely nothing done to it!

@robz Ah, the magic of leading lines! and sooc is where I like to be...except, I admit for some enhancement of contrast and cropping because I still don't check around the edges enough! :)

@jorlam wish I could take credit for all the details that you have noticed that I didn't (I am embarrassed to admit) You make me so much more aware! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

@laroque Wow, nice comment...especially appreciate that added exclamation point! Bridge was built in 1912 as a railroad bridge and has a "lift" section so that tall ships could pass under.

I LOVE this! Makes me want to explore more.

I agree that checking the comp, especially the edges, is a good habit fostered by working SOOC... and the exposure of course. But messing about in the cameras software to find the settings you want is a real pain and a waste of time for a RAW shooter like me. Whatever you did here was right anyhow!
