Another go at that white background, but the white tulip got darkened here, so not much white on white...Thank you @susale for suggesting that I shoot with the light behind the flower and get in close or macro. It really worked. (Cloudy but bright sky.)
This was sharpened and converted to b&w in Picasa.
the paper thin petals look like silk scarves blowing in the breeze.. love how the light picks out the patterns and folds/creases in the petals.. a fab PoV..
the only thing i would be picky on is the dark shadow, bottom left of shot, i think the image would benefit from it's removal, it is quite distracting. otherwise it is a beautiful image, full of light and texture..
