The Great White Egret stands very still in the water, turns his head to the side so that one eye is watching the water. At the perfect moment, quick as a flash, he makes a dive into the water with his beak and snares a fish. Yes, he did come up with a fish after this attempt. I liked the reflections, his pose and the water splash in this shot. These birds are very beautiful to me and I enjoy watching them and taking photos. This one is a regular at the duck pond.
Thank you for viewing and your comments on this photo and my other photos. I appreciate it very much.
Fabulous capture; love the wing action.
(Thanks for the fav. on my lorikeets shot; if you would like a copy of the photo that you like, send me your email address and I'll send it to you. I'll delete your address when I've got it.)
@vickisfotos Vicki, thank you so much for the comment and the fav! It has taken me a while to learn and get comfortable with my camera and lenses. The thing with this Egret is that he is not afraid of me and I can get close enough and even have to step back a bit to get all of him in the shot sometimes.
The focus and colour are just superb. I love the reflections aswell as the great shot of the egret. Apparently Great White Egrets have been seen in Britain this year. Thank you so much Linda for taking the time to comment on my horsey pictures. Much appreciated.
