Putting on the brakes

Back at the duck pond today. They have the water fountain back on. The ducks looked pretty happy. There was a mama duck with two new hatchlings. I almost missed this shot, she flew by as I was taking a photo of something else, luckily she flew right in front of me. I was able to get this one of her landing in the water and putting out her feet to slow down. Sort of like dropping the landing gear. I have lowered the resolution in this shot and resized it a bit.

@janek Thank you, Jane. This was the first shot of that duck. I got a few more as she settled into the water. Luckily I was shooting at something in front of me, so did not have to change position much as she zipped by.
