Carolina Chickadee by grannysue

Carolina Chickadee

We had lots of bird visitors braving the showers this morning. This is the first one of these I have seen here and I hope it brings back friends. The birds have managed to eat several pounds of birdseed this week. It could become an expensive habit feeding them.

We have the black-capped version up here. I love their little "chick-a-dee" call. I have found mixing my songbird feed with sunflower seeds keeps the feeding frenzy down a bit as they attract different birds and they have to share the feeder then. I put the seeds in as alternate layers, but they always end up mixing up a bit as the birds pull the seeds out. Great shot of this little fellow!

I love that face. Your feeding habit is like what ours was feeding the ducks at the park. Only go once in a while now with most regular ducks gone. I hear the more you feed the more birds you get. My Mom tried this and ended up with crows on her roof and bothering the smaller birds so she had to stop.
