@summitpeak Thanks Natalie, it was a terrific day! I even took some photos from the log jam, but your's puts mine to absolute shame! :) It just inspires me to get up there several more times and keep trying!
Love the sun streaming through the gap - the rendering of the water is very pretty too. I hope you had your eyes open for bears while taking this photo though!!!
@mabelkitty Me too Michelle! I was just talking to my cousin about that today; it's all of that glacial silt! :) @luvthyclassics Thank you so much Jesse! :) @elke Thank you Elke!
@grizzlysghost Yep, one of the latest openings on record if I do recall. According to the park's FB page, plowing is progressing well. We're planning on heading to the Bison Range this weekend. Hoping to get some good shots there. :)
Thanks. We go annually and usually catch the elk, bighorn sheep, as well as the pronghorn and bison. Last year, we saw a black bear on the range for the first time. That was special! Looks like this glorious weather is gonna stick around for awhile. Have a good weekend, Aaron!
I've noticed your 'water processing' and it's given me a hint about how I might 'fix' my own problems with taking such pictures; the life/motion just disappears for me. Thanks for the inspiration! ;-)
@bankmann Thank you so much Bankmann! Lots of trial and error; you'll get it! @smithak Thanks Smitha! It is a really awesome gorge; the water just roars through here!
@rmkgreene Thanks so much Ruth! No ND filter was used in this shot, I just made sure I had taken the light reading from the shady side, stepped it down a notch, and set it for a 1 second exposure to recover the natural light (this prevented the background from "blowing out" too much).
@paulien Thank you Paulien! @geertje Thank you so much Geertje! I didn't use a filter; just made sure I was in a pretty shady part of the forest so I could get away with the 1-second exposure :)
