View from a porthole in the West Tunnel in Glacier National Park, Montana. this time of year there is a ton of snow melt and it just cascades over the tunnel, forming curtains of water. That is Heaven's Peak in the background :)
I am now selling some of my prints!

@ladyjane Thanks LadyJane! @bankmann Thanks Bankmann, it was a little bit tricky! I had to close my aperture all of the way so I could keep some cave detail without blowing out the background; which slowed my shutter to 1/25 of a second, which meant I had to hold the camera VERY steady :)
That's lovely - aah it fires up the imagination... I think perhaps I read too many 'Famous Five' books as a kid....! (They were always hiding or making camps behind the curtain of a waterfall).
@smithak Thanks Smitha! @trumpetman Thank you Mike! @webfoot Cars drive through where I am standing Paul, but there is a little walking area right along the portholes here. I am able to stand in the middle of the road because vehicle traffic is prohibited through here until they finish clearing the snow and rocks through Logan Pass. So kind of a rare opportunity for this shot :)
@mantha Thanks Samantha! @filsie65 Haha, maybe so Phil. It does lend a certain fascination to the experience though; standing behind a waterfall. :) @sueh Haha, you crack me up Sue! Thank you so much :)
@agavegirl13 Thank you so much Karuna! @cromwell Thank you so much Cromwell! There is a feature along this road called the "weeping wall" where the water is just cascading off of the cliffside onto the passing cars. This was just above the mandatory turnaround point or I would have ridden through it. Nothing wakes you up quite like a snowmelt shower!
@groovygirlrn Thanks Sheri! @jolefont Thank you Jo Ann :) @copperheadglass Thanks Meredith, it took a couple of tries to get right :) @webfoot Actually Paul, this is the "porthole" which in fact you could probably drive a VW through... and down the cliff! I am standing in the actual vehicle tunnel that runs to my left and right.
@sailingmusic@sailingmusic Thanks so much Myrna! It's on the US side, but most people miss it because they are driving through the tunnel in which I am standing :) People can't stop here, but where they CAN stop is far enough away that people don't want to walk back and look out these (windows). The park is full of hidden wonders :)
