Which it would seem I am in short supply of at the moment...

Backstory on this shot:
I have a large display cabinet I picked up in Germany, so of course it's wired for 220v and we are 110v here in the states. I just rewired it to accept 110 bulbs (so I can display my cameras of course) and this is a left-over 220v bulb.

I wired a cord directly to this bulb (attached with electrical tape) and ran a trickle of 110v to it. It was barely on, so I had to keep the shutter open quite a while (over 30 seconds). So, that's it. That's my big idea for today :)

Ha.... you used your "short supply" well!! I like this, Aaron... PS.... I COMMENTED... hahah :P One of the 10%... damn, I rock!

This is a great shot. I know what you mean about running out of ideas. It happens to me, too.
posted June 2nd, 2012
I like it too. I'm a bit lacking in the ideas dept. at the moment as well.
posted June 2nd, 2012
This is very creative!! Ideas are definitely hard to come by at times :)

hey... I see my letter there... Z... twice!!!

@ozziehoffy Haha Cassandra, and you were the FIRST one, so you didn't have to add another "awesome" or "cool" or "well done" LOL. Thanks!
@mittens Thanks Marilyn, I just hate it when it happens; so frustrating! I shot a stupid strawberry dripping stupid chocolate syrup a stupid three dozen ways for two stupid hours today for the theme and got ZIP! LOL

You too huh.... I do love this capture though, very creative for one who claims to be lacking in inspiration... :-)

@carrapeta00 Haha, those "Z's" represent what my imagination is doing right now! :)

@socalgal Haha, see my "Strawberry" post just above yours; it's been a bit of a frustrating day... :) Thanks Patty!

@grizzlysghost I just read Brendan's thread. Does that mean I'm one of your 10% ? :) You are definitely one of my 10%! Thanks!

I know the feeling. These past few weeks have been terribly busy, and then the weather hasn't been the best either.

Great idea !!! :-)
Very clever and fitting.

@grizzlysghost Who said anything about "awesome", "cool", or "well done"....?? *rolls eyes* now you're just taking it too far :P LOL.

I don't believe you, Aaron (the short supply of ideas part, that is). . .
posted June 2nd, 2012
@lyno Haha, oh it definitely happens; more often than I would like to admit! But I just take a look through 365 and ideas start to surface; so it's just a temporary thing :)
posted June 2nd, 2012
Very clever shot! I'm in the same place, with such bad weather keeping me in, I think I've photographed everything in my house!
posted June 2nd, 2012
@groovygirlrn Haha, that is exactly what I did; I even took the back off of an old clock of mine today to take a shot of the gears but wasn't happy with ANY of it!
posted June 2nd, 2012
regardless of the subject, i love all of your work, and you certainly never seem to be "out of ideas" :)
posted June 2nd, 2012
Your idea made a fab shot! A whole cabinet full of cameras sounds pretty awesome too.
posted June 2nd, 2012
@luvthyclassics Haha, thanks Jesse; but today was pretty grueling idea-wise! Nothing I tried was working out, and that's frustrating!

@naladka Thanks Naladka! It is still coming together but it's looking pretty cool :)

A great idea, especially because you went to all that effort lol I would have been lazy and photoshopped it in :D
posted June 2nd, 2012
Thanks for the background. I was wondering how you did it.
posted June 2nd, 2012
@maggiemae Haha, the berries went into the bin and the chocolate down the drain; I was that pleased with the results! :)
@harley84 Thanks Katherine!
@tracywilliams Ugh, don't get me started Tracy! :)
@agima You bet Brendan! I still have the bulb rigged up so I might use it in some other shots later down the road.

What a great idea for a photo! I'm glad you didn't blow a fuse using a 220 bulb.
posted June 2nd, 2012
Cool shot! What a creative idea.
posted June 2nd, 2012
How did you just pick up a large cabinet and bring it home?! If I pick up a large cabinet, it would probably be just 2 streets down on someone's lawn lol Nice capture and very clever rewiring all those thingys :D
posted June 2nd, 2012
Love the warm glow. Difficult to buy these sort of bulbs anymore. :(
