It just happened to me. Driving through Hungry Horse, Montana (yes, it is a real place) on the way to Glacier National Park. Something compelled me to pay more attention to the odometer than the speeding traffic around me, and I found myself reaching for my camera. It was as if my limbs were no longer under my control. Before I could break the spell, the shot had already been taken.
The same compulsion is driving me to post and share my 100,000-mile mark with people I have never met.
Why do people do this? Why do whales beach themselves? Why is water so wet? Just another mystery I guess.
I am now selling some of my prints!

@cmc1200 Haha, too funny Caryn! Mine is almost 7 (I can hardly believe it's been that long)! And it's been all over Europe and the states; this one's seen a lot!
I sit down at the computer to find a recipe for window cleaning...and what do I do.... read the 365 news! 2 hours later, I've forgotten what I originally wanted! Hey you were still driving when you took this photo! The camera doesn't lie!
@38mm :) @lorraineb Haha, too true Lorraine :) @klf70 Haha, if I was still in Europe, mine would have read 100! ;) I do have another photo when I turned over 66,666 and was going 66 miles per hour. I lived through it, so I guess I'm invincible! :)
so at 60mph you took a cool shot of your dashboard "moment." A little more dangerous than texting as you had to focus.......

@grizzlysghost Our 4-Runner has also been all over Europe. It has just over 100k, but it's 11 years old. We travelled tons when we were at Ramstein, but none since we've been back. Having small kids doesn't help--it's easier to fly somewhere rather than listening to hours of whining in the car.
Nice shot, though I klnow you are going to get some flack for taking a shot while driving. 100K, way to go, and hopefully she'll be good for many more. I have turned over 165K on my Sante Fe. I am hoping for 200K at least.
@digitalrn Wow, that is a lot Rick! I am hoping to at least double mine too; it's a very reliable rig! @groovygirlrn I'll have to credit Canon for the focus :)
i confess to being more fascinated by a place called "hungry horse"... i mean, i can't quite wrap my head around being from there... "hi, i'm from hungry horse... nice to meet you!" or "i'm a hungry horse-ian - where are you from?" "when i was growing up in hungry horse in the late 20th century..." sorry... my mind was wondering... 100,000 miles... awesome!
lol from the dash it looks like you have a nice car. Mine is a bomb, I should take a picture of the smoke belching out of it. People might mistake it for a storm cloud hahaha Congrats on making 100.000 mile mark.
I should say 'tut tut' but who could have resisted taking a shot of that! So glad you did it safely.
Can't imagine anyone taking a shot when the car's moving.....!! ( @christiehicks )
@lindag Haha, thanks Linda! :)
