Canterbury New Hampshire is the site of the largest collection of buildings that had formed a Shaker village. The Shakers were a group of people, mainly from the late 1700's through the late late 1800's when they saw a steady decline. There are a hand full of Shakers now in Maine, at a different site. The building archecture and furniture design is quite beautiful in it's simplicity. Designed for function.
