Went to collect some shoes from Preston today so out came the camera ! There are some lovely old buildings in Preston not least this one, the old court house used for a very famous trial quite a few years ago now. The roast potato man was selling his wares & the pigeons waiting patiently !
You have people selling baked potatos on the side of the road?! I've never heard of that! All we've got are hot dog carts....we call them street meat!
Lovely photo, beautiful windows!
Nice capture! I love the atmosphere of the street vendor, people, courthouse and tree. Here we have a lot of vendors that drive to businesses usually with burritos, tacos and hamburgers. Never heard of a potato vendor, it sounds good.
@happypat. I doubt it!! Now I think my mum called them 'parched' as that's the proper Preston version but my dad called them 'black' because he grew up in Rochdale. I'm sure my mum would say she's right ;0)
What a great photo Pat - so much to look at. I love the architecture, the people and the baked potato man too. It is so cold here today, that I wish I could find this baked potato man.
The smell of baked potatoes is almost irresistible, you did very well. I love the composition with the mixture of old building and modern life, like nothing really changes that much.
@peggysirk There was a very sad & horrific murder case tried here about 15 years ago when two boys abducted a small boy. It was very public & a terrible time with repercussions to this day.
Lovely photo, beautiful windows!
