This is our illegal immigrant !! Our daughter-in-law was a cattle buyer before she moved to New Zealand & one day about 8 years ago she came home with this lamb in a cardboard box which had been born to a sheep destined, I'm afraid to say for the chop !! He was reared with our dog Tui who was a pup at the time & has lived here ever since. He used to graze with the cows when we had stock & thinks he is a cow !! He does not tolerate other sheep & when he went to be clipped with other sheep he escaped in the night & they found him sitting with the beef cattle ! Harry & Brian clipped him a month ago & he is as fit as a fiddle ! He has no tags & not registered so we disown him if any one comes from the Agriculture hierarchy !! I have been playing around with picnic this morning & added a frame & his name! I usually do nothing to my photos except sharpen or crop a bit so it was fun doing this !!
Henry looks fabulous Pat , he looks a real character.
Sheep seem to have such photogenic and 'naughty' faces !!!
Great POV for the photo and I love how you have got down to Henry's level and made eye contact. You are getting good at this 'photo lark'....your photo lessons and observing friends on here are obviously working well for you.
Nice choice of yellow lettering to match the buttercups :)
Oh I'm loving Henry - what a lucky sheep to reach 8 years old in carefree good health. I'm sure the agriculture people don't get a say so long as you don't eat him!! How long does a sheep live then assuming that they don't end up in hotpot? Loving the frame there - you know I'm addicted to them now!
@phil_howcroft Thanks Phil for your comments ! looking back I am quite pleased with my photos these days , some more than others but I take note of all the wonderful pictures on 365 & learn how to experiment with different ideas ..keep learning !!
great shot - you and me both posted sheep pics tonight! though yours looks less hassled than ours were after we'd chased them round a field for an hour!!
@judithg Not sure how long sheep live Judith, quite a few years guessing & he has never needed worming as he is on his own field with no other sheep so he could live for 15 years !! I was pleased with the frame but even more with the name !!
@grannysue Yes we have to have traceability for all farm animals Linda. All cattle & horses have to have their own passport & all sheep double tagged or you are breaking the law !! It's because if Foot & Mouth disease or similar breaks out in Britain tomorrow they can trace all animals & try to contain it. You probably saw all the dreadful pictures of the last foot & mouth outbreak & we mustn't let that happen again ! Congrats on your PP too !
that is the greatest story ever!! I think you should write a short story about this character - it's such a meaty (no pun intended) topic! and what a handsome fellow. Keep us tuned in to anymore of his exploits!
@stepheesue Thats an interesting idea Stephanie !! He hasn't done anything exciting today only eat grass but Harry has made him a little shelter for the winter as he is getting older. He hasn't been in it yet but knowing him he will sit next to it & decline to go inside !!

I love your story.
Congrats on PP!
Great shot!
