Our New Zealand post boxes we brought back from NZ live at the end of our drive. One for us & one for Brian & Lesleys house which is let out. I love these post boxes because they also serve as a collecting point for the post man to pick up letters that we want to post which is very unusual in the UK. As long as we have a stamp you can just pop your letter in , put the little arm up & when the post man delivers our post he will very kindly collect the letters waiting. They are quite big so will take a parcel & positioned at van window height so that the post man doesn't have to get out of his van !!!
We have brought three of these boxes back over the 7 years we have been going to NZ. We just wrap them up in a plastic & they go through customs no problem, quite light to carry too!.
The flap at the front is on a hinge & just pulls down.
Nice and neat way of getting the post. There are several homemade boxes like this round our way - but yours look far superior! Beautiful healthy geraniums there too!

Ahhh, those Kiwis are a canny lot! Have seen these over there when we have travelled and they are good. Have seen some in Aus, but lot's of famers tend to go for milk barrels and the like. Nice shot.
Oh Pat, what a fabulous photo - I LOVE the post boxes and your gate. Also love the geraniums. There is something very familiar about this photo - even though we are so far apart, there are so many similarities. If dairy farmers over here, have calves for sale, they put up a red flag on their mail boxes. Funny how similar things can be.

Very nice post box and beautiful geraniums. We have rural post boxes in the USA, mine is thin metal, beat up and battered. Seems the youth like to use them for target practice as they drive by. We could send mail out using them, but I prefer to drop it off in town.
Lovely picture with the geraniums in it. Our mailman comes Monday and Thursday and he will take or mail and parcels to be posted too. With parcels they will just send a bill at the end of the month for the postage costs.
