London to Edinburgh. by happypat

London to Edinburgh.

Main North Western railway line used by Virgin trains. These trains go by at very high speed. There is actually a foot crossing here by these lights which my friend & I could have crossed when we were on a walk this afternoon. We decided to go round the long way, just taking this photo made me jump , the noise & the air whistling past was horrendous !!
Years ago there used to be a station here & houses but they are all demolished now ...no time to stop for passengers in the country !!
Wow interesting photo - can't believe people are allowed to get so close to the train!

Great shot. I like seeing trains, they seem to have some sort of special charm and character, especially steam trains.

Great photo of this train . . but I'll bet the station was nicer to have there. Goes to show how times are changing.

Blimey I wouldn't cross either! Very comfy trains though!

Very cool shot! Sounds like a great way to get where you want to go in a hurry....unless, of course, you live in the country.

This made me smile Pat - because one of the things I hate, is standing near the tracks, with a train wizzing past. it kind of scares me for some reason. I was glad to read that you found it horrendous. sounds like a fabulous walk with your friend.

Same here Pat ,a lot of the little rail sidings are gone. Once the trains would stop all along the way to drop of goods at all the goods sheds out in the rural areas.
