Anyone for apple pie ? by happypat

Anyone for apple pie ?

Another rainy damp day & nothing to inspire me to take pictures. This year has been a mammoth fruit crop & our apple trees are loaded with fruit so I was embarrassed to let them go to waste & drop off the trees so this morning I picked a whole container full & put them out on the front gate free to anyone. I did photograph the whole tree with the ladder but it didn't work so well ..too busy amongst the leaves !! I took this one which I am quite pleased with but the leaf is not at it's best !!
This variety is a Bramley apple tree which is the best for apple pies !!
This is just wonderful, Pat. The selective coloring works perfectly, Those raindrops falling from the apple - so clear - and tell the story of the day. And the focus - perfect. A fav!

@barbsmith Wow thanks Barb ! All the others were too busy & when I looked at this one I realised I had inadvertently caught a rain drop too !!!

What a fabulous photo, Pat! Love the raindrop capture. And the selective coloring works perfectly in this shot. So good of you to share your bumper crop of apples with your neighbors and passers-by! Well done!

Great stuff Pat - lovely raindrop and the apple just glows. I have some lovely cookers which I assume are Bramleys but some of them go red. I really must do the same and pick some for a box on the driveway - we have loads and I can't get through them.

@judithg The apples at the top of the tree have gone quite red so Bramleys do go reddish .
@sarah19 @peggysirk @adobewaters Every one has apples round here so I will be lucky to get rid of them but can but try !! Thanks for your comments !!

You should be VERY pleased with this one, Pat. I love the simplicity of the angle, color, and the weather enhances it all! Great job. Think that I'll stop by for some of those apples and "attempt" a pie!! lol

Beautiful shot. I have the magnificent total of 3 apples on my tree this year! Too much frost when the blossom was out. Usually I have a glut even after the freezer is full of them. Glad your harvest is good.

It sounds like you live in a wonderful, rural part of England Pat. Leaving fruit at your front gate, is a very kind, country thing to do. People where I live, often take surplus fruit and vegetables, into the local PO for others to take. This is a great shot too - love that green apple against the background. Wish my uninspired days produced gorgeous photos like this.
