Spring corner in December. by happypat

Spring corner in December.

I went in the front garden today & could hardly believe my eyes..I know it has been unseasonal but on this bitterly cold day I do not expect to find Narcissus & Fuchsia blooming among the dead leaves !
What a wonderful surprise - a hint of spring in the middle of winter!

This is so bizarre! My dad posted a picture of a candelabra primrose in flower the other day! Very cheerful colours so see at this time of year.

@jmj It was a big surprise but this is a little corner just round the front door so must be sheltered !

That's very pretty and very unusual! I must have a look in my garden one of these days.....I did see some bulbs peeping through on Saturday but didn't have time to look closely!

Well, Mother Nature has a mind of her own! Can't believe this . . has your weather been warm lately? Beautiful capture of this . . lovely colors of green and that great pop of pink.

It seems as though the seasons are getting muddled up, it has been quite mild , I have some primroses flowering in a sheltered spot. love your picture Pat.

Oh my...this weather has everything turned around. Lovely little "spring" vignette in your garden, Pat. And I love your ivy covered wall. I'm trying to get ivy going on my back wall...it's finally starting to take off.

@sarah19 @snowy @peggysirk @karenann Our weather has been quite warmish & I haven't been surprised to see the odd rose still flowering but was completely amazed to see this Narcissus ! It is just a little corner round from the front porch which faces South so obviously been very sheltered there ! Even though it is bitterly cold here today they are still out of the wind. Thank you all for your comments !

Oh wow Pat - this is so pretty and I love your caption. It reminds me of one of my favourite books - The Secret Garden - when Mary finds the bulbs poking up through the ground. What a special little nook you have in your spring garden.

Wow narcissus in December?! It's freezing here today and getting wintrier as the week goes on. @peggysirk You sound like my husband - always trying to grow ivy on things - he doesn't know I keep cutting it all back :0)
