Well we had a great time last night at the village hall, good food,a good DJ, plenty of variety in the dance line with quick steps, waltzes etc & then disco stuff so it catered for the great variety of ages there.
I took my camera & tried to get a few shots but most came out pretty bad but really liked this one. Taken as a quick shot of the dance floor just after midnight I didn't realise Cathy our daughter had just turned round & looked at me. Although the rest of the dancers are blurred she stood out pretty well & I think a lovely spontaneous photo ! Although not much photographic quality I think it captures the mood of the evening a bit.
We have spoken to both families on the other side of the world & all is well there ...we are very lucky & count our blessings !

Well it looks like the floor was filled with a lot of fun activity, and it looks lke Cathy was the one that stood out in the crowd. it worked out well.

@louisefrance The first time we have spent New years Eve with them although they were with a younger group but it was good to be together in the same place & with all our old neighbours. Cathy & Garth still live in that area so knew every one too !

This is a wonderful photo, Pat. It's really a great dof kind of picture . . and looks like you wanted to just focus on her! Very effective and shows the merriment of the whole scene.
Pat when I first saw this image I thought you'd post processed it to get the outsides blurry and the centre sharp and (b) you'd dyed your hair for New Year............. you daughter Cathy definitely looks like you :)

@phil_howcroft It was a pretty blurry photo but Cathy was the clearest part so I blurred the rest more using fancy focus on Picnic & accentuated Cathy more & I do think it works quite well !! She actually is like me but looks more like Harry in looks !!
Sounds like a great night - I bet some of the you goes tried a bit of ballroom as well. And great to get the village together / did you all have to shuffle round to first foot each other?! Fab shot of Cathy - she's glowing - Happy New Year to you all!!
@judithg Yes we all had a go at everything & Harry & I are of the ballroom age !! We did actually learn ballroom dancing at the convent but I always took the part of the man so wasn't much good really ! No first footing but we didn't get home til after 1am. Happy New Year !!
