Flat roofs. by happypat

Flat roofs.

No time for fancy photos today so this is the best I can do.I went to the hairdressers this morning for the full works before I go away & then on to RPH.
View taken from hospital ward window this afternoon, it was either the view of the roof of A&E or flat roofs, Booths & the hills in the distance so I plumped for the hills ! Booths is the building on the left with the red stripe & small windows Judith.

I have been very stressed today as I did a stupid thing & was so busy talking on the way out I forgot to pay for the parking ticket in the pay machine inside the hospital. I got as far as the barrier with a massive queue from end of visiting, put my ticket in & of course the barrier wouldn't go up !! I pressed the help button & a very unhelpful man said I definitely couldn't go through until I had paid.
Horns hooting & very black looks from all behind me , I had to ask them all to back up while I backed into the side until I paid up...I will never forget to pay again !! There was a bit of language under the breath I can say !!

Sorry quite busy at the moment & am being a bit lax with commenting, I will catch up !
Jen
Sorry about your day, take care

It's nice to share a view that you had today ~ although it might have been interesting to see the queue of cars idling impatiently behind you in the the parking garage. :) Truly, I'm so sorry you had to endure that regretful experience, Pat. It seems like the lot attendant could have been a bit more helpful, raised the arm, and let you pay on the outside. As @sarah19 said, I would try to put that incident behind you and just look forward to your upcoming trip!

Try not to worry about the parking incident, Pat. I'm sure that nobody even remembered it after ten minutes! Including the very "unhelpful man!" I loved your beautiful composition . . even better enlarged! Just remember to pack your camera when you go. I know that you'll have many great photo ops while there. Sit back and relax tonight. :)

That sounds like you had a hell of a day, Pat. It must be a relief to think that it's all over now. People can be so impatient at times and over what is really only a small thing, a matter of minutes. Glad you lived to tell the tale!

Hopefully the people behind you weren't grumbling but were admiring how lovely your hair looked!! Rooftop views are fascinating...

Hey, things happen, and no sense allowing something like that to ruin your day. Enjoy your time.

@bpaquette There's a thought Barbara !!

Oh no - not even close proximity to Booths would make that a good event!!!
That must happen all the time at hospitals - people are often feeling very distracted - in fact I did the same once when I was visiting one of the doctor's research groups with work. I couldn't even blame life & death scenarios for being incompetent! Luckily there was only one car behind me. They should have a system where you can pay by card at the barrier. @bpaquette I think you must be right! Sounds like the trip is getting excitingly close now.

Oh Pat, this will make a very funny story in a few weeks - but I can understand your stress at the time. I think people who work in and around hospitals, should be trained to deal with people who are under a bit more stress than usual. Have a lovely restful visit when you go.
