This is our very busy High street on a Saturday morning. I went for the bread order this morning & to collect my NZ dollars & could hardly park the car. Although a small village this place has everything you need & on a busy morning you have to drive round the square hoping someone will pull out so you can park.
We are so lucky & no empty shops here.
Pretty boring photos but I have lots to do before I go away so you will have to come with me via my camera !
Very nice shot. Living in a thriving community is a *double edged sword*. The shopkeepers need the *heavy traffic* and the shoppers need *no empty shops*.
Wonderful village scene. This brought back memories instantly. I remember looking for those parking spaces in England (Lakenheath). The only time I could find one easily was in the afternoon when the shops closed for "tea!" Such a great custom. :)
Don't these car drivers know you're busy and need to get parked?! I bet there's equal excitement going on in NZ! I've baked your biscuits ready for @sparkle 's visit tomorrow. Not as pro as yours but they taste good!
@judithg Wow Judith teats quick work !!! I must say my biscuits do vary & are sometimes better than others !! Lydia can make them best !!! You are meeting up with @sparkle, fantastic, I wish I was with you !! Think of me when you partake !!!!
@happypat@judithg ah biscuits...yummy! great B&W Pat...you must be getting very excited now about your trip. I'm also trying to whiz around like a nutter trying to get my kit together for my trip too!
GREAT! Long live thriving villages! Ours is a bit like that too..............can't park easily some days and has all the basics we could ask for.
Hope all the last minute bits and pieces are in place. Have a lovely trip! xx
I have just been looking at your latest pics, I must try out your recipe , I haven't had chance to keep up with 365 we have had family staying with us , now I am trying to catch up , it sounds as though you are pretty busy at the moment too Pat.
I'm visiting my Dad in a market town in Yorkshire and it is also a thriving place and difficult to find a parking space! You must be so busy, have a great trip!
@stepheesue I am still in Imperial measure here Stephanie so it's either half a pound of sugar or 8ounces of sugar or 225 grammes of sugar. Hope this helps !!!
@farmboy9155 Wednesday 15th Darrell !! Can't wait to come out to a bit of sun !!! If I was coming to South Island I would come for a flat white !!!! One day perhaps !!!
This is such a charming scene and a lovely place to take care of your shopping and errands. Your departure date fast approaches and it sounds like you are ready for NZ!!
Hope all the last minute bits and pieces are in place. Have a lovely trip! xx
