I have always admired this hedge every time I go past it ! I think it is called an Espalier hedge but not sure.
I once saw the Irish gardener Diarmuid Gavin planting one in a garden he was designing for one of these make over shows. All the spring leaves are just coming out so it looks very pretty but I will show it again when the leaves are turning red.
Harry & I are away for the weekend so there will be no commenting until Monday night.
I think everything has conspired to keep us at home though, one of them being that we couldn't get out of the back door all night as the lock had broken ! It is being repaired as I write this so hopefully all will be well ! The first time we have left the animals for someone other than family to mind them.
That's very cool - I like your frame as well. Is that cinema faded out? It works really nicely. Have a lovely w/end - are you going to a B&B?! The animals will be fine!!
@judithg No we are staying at a rather nice looking hotel called The Collingwood Arms in Northumberland. All the family getting together for my Uncles 90th ! The photo is cinerama in Picmonkey , it has altered the colour of the greens rather & couldn't make my mind whether to post this or just the usual with slight boost. Rather nervous about the animals but they will have to get used to much longer at Christmas !
I love these hedges too, I like the way you can see a glimpse of the house through the hedge, I suppose when the leaves are fully out, that view will be obscured! lovely shot.
This is nicely balanced here! Never seen an espaliered hedge... Mostly done with fruit trees! The Collingwood Arms, eh! Northumberland photos...here they come!
@maggiemae Yes I thought it looked a lovely place too am looking forward to it very much. My sister who I haven't seen since last October is there already & she says it's really cosy !!!!
That really is a special and fantastic hedge. Love how some people take so much care of their homes and garden. Wish people here are half as conscientious!
Have a nice w/e!
I love the tones here
