These steps in Miller Park brought back so many memories.
We used to walk from my school in Winckley Square through the park, two by two in crocodile, one teacher at the front & one bringing up the rear & keeping us in line.
Up these steps we would climb & this was a good three quarters of a mile from school, over the bridge that spans the River Ribble , walking next to the railway track, down the other side to the playing fields.
We were worn out before we got there & had to play an hours hockey, I hated it but still played in the team so must have done alright.
These steps reminded me of those walks in all weathers & I had forgotten they were there.
Gorgeous pov, Pat ... love the capture of the person climbing. Quite the trek for the little ones going to school. These are beautiful ... so much character. Love your story and your memories.
great story and as of last weekend i know all these places you talk of. don't quite recognise these steps but we were in miller park with ian's pizza van!
