This is part of what they call the old covered market in Preston.
You can see part of the market on your left & the corner of Market street & Orchard street, all old familiar haunts to us Prestononians.
Three good things:
1. Have had a lovely day shopping with my dear daughter Cathy & lunch out, all the nicer because it was unexpected.
2. A new series of The Choir is on tonight at 9pm....@judithg please note!!!!!!
3. After battling with one of these new fangled phones I have thrown in the towel & bought a Doro which is a simple no nonsense phone for old & decrepit folk!!!!
Three good things:
1. Got to Fav - love this part of Preston and is that the Parched Pea seller?
2. I think my mum needs one of those phones - she can't get to grips with her touch screen and if you text her you have to call to tell her you've done it. I'll look it up!
3. Something to watch while I do loads of ironing - hurrah!
i like the POV Pat, i'm trying to work out where you shot it from because you seem to be quite high up , although i seem to remember you sharing a car park shot in Preston, but the bottom right corner suggests this might be a window !
Lovely view of this charming area!! The architecture is wonderful...as are the cobbled streets, the colors, and the activity taking place. Love this scene. Have an enjoyable evening watching your show...I don't think we get that in the States.
Hello Pat and greetings from Edmonton canada. I saw this on the browse page and I do love how you captured so much of the market. This must be a great place to spend a day.
Well done on PP Pat! I agree about the choir - better when he's having to persuade non-singers and now he's so famous they all want to be in it and only decent singers got in. Also the angio surgeon only got in because he was a difficult character (in my opinion!) And I didn't warm to him!! The best part was the neonatal nurses singing to the babies .. And Nigel used to rock ours to sleep to REM singing 'Everybody hurts' so it annoyed me that they did t go with it more!!!
this is taken from a great vantage point Pat, really nice shot showing the different sides of the market place - love the everyday life bits too; people going about their business...especially the community officer there! Re the Choir, I'm gutted I missed it, one of the guys I'm working with was on it as he takes the choir in the business I'm working in...I shoudl try and get it on I-player!!
