Harry & I have been into Preston today. We set off nice & early & then had our toasted tea cakes & a coffee in M&S.
Outside W.H.Smith we met this lady sitting on a bench eating her fish & chips. She tried her best to get us to have a chip.
All dressed up to the nines she did look rather odd but was really friendly & wasn't bothered at all about people walking past.
Three good things:
1. A good nights sleep at last & it makes one feel so much brighter!
2. Harry bought me a very nice cream M&S Autograph sweater with a rather trendy zip up the back.
3. I treated myself to a large magazine called The Ultimate Cannon SLR Handbook from W.H.Smith & I have learnt something already!!!!
She does look all dressed up, how nice of her to offer to share!!! So glad you feel better.....like the sound sof the zip, and the reading material sounds very interesting!!!! I bought the Gourmet Traveller recipe magazine last week,,,,rather extortionate but almost no adverts at all....and 400+ marvellous recipes....and I've actually cooked one!!!!
Oooo look at you sc!!! I was out today too raining cats and dogs!! I have been looking everywhere for a cream sweater, will look at M&S thank you!!!!!!!! Your lady's hat looks like a pearly queen type thingy!! and a smart handbag too, great shot
@fannyb Its not on line I see but in the shop in town. Rather heavy knit with a 6inch or so zip up the back, very nice I thought! The lady was not English & quite a character.
@ruthmouch I bought my son Hugh Fearnly Whiitingstalls Every Day Meals today as he likes his organic type approach to food Might have to carry it in our hand luggage as it is rather heavy ( or at least Harry will!)

@ruthmouch Just chuckling at the general delight in useful books! But it is true that often you peruse the whole thing only to find nothing suitable (Heston's 'At Home' falls into this category!) and the same with camera books - quite often intractable. Hope you'll be passing on tips Pat. And I love this character!!
