A brilliant night last night in Blackpool.
A beautiful evening for the annual Riding the Lights night.
Before the Illuminations start they always had a practice night then someone had the very bright idea of closing the promenade to traffic & allowing bicycles access
The event has grown & grown & people come from miles to take part.....last night there were thousands cycling along the seven mile length of the sea front.
I presume while this is all happening they are checking for any dud bulbs!!!
If you have the time much better viewed large as the light was low. Many thanks to all you lovely friends!
Three good things:
1. Sky plus...I have caught up with last nights Great British Bake Off.
2. The time to sit & watch TV in the afternoon!
3. My photos from last night came out surprisingly well considering the light & I didn't use my tripod.
Viewed large really shows up this picture in more detail , the lights are so pretty, it must have been fun cycling along the front. It is some thing I have wanted to see the illuminations at Blackpool
Oh that is just lovely! What a clever idea and especially nice event when so many come to cycle and view. The lights are lovely and it is fab in large view. @judithg Yes I missed GBBO too.............wonder if I can find it on iplayer!
Lovely catch, Pat! The lighting is great in your shot. Good to see some helmets in there - it looks like an accident waiting to happen with so many bikes!!!
No tripod - you must have had a steady hand! Great event and nice that it encourages people to take part. I daresay you talk to whoever is next to you too!
What a great event and you've caught it well. re your comment on Paul, yes he is here and we are causing merry mayhem together!! We should get him out next time you, me and Judith get together...(he can't make September meet). He says hello by the way!!
@happypat She had fantastic technique (not that I know really!) - not sure what was going on except maybe building Ruby's confidence so that she keeps the young interest (might be being generous here!!!)
@happypat Yes both lovely looking. Some of the other girls are very funny - a well chosen bunch I thought - felt sorry for the chap in the muffin challenge - must have thrown him off when she squashed his muffins!
