A day dealing with phone contracts that have suddenly appeared on our account when we want to leave....I have never had a phone contract in my life. What with yesterdays contract for broadband allegedly so hard to leave & today's saga I am beginning to think all these firms are following on from the utility companies & slapping contracts on so you can't leave!!
I feel like I am invisible like this duck....on the war path though!!
Three good things:
1. Bananas in the letter box today. Our neighbour in the party house is not used to online ordering of her groceries & had a delivery from ASda on Saturday of 5 kgs of bananas instead of five separate ones!
2. A refund on its way from electric company owing since last August........I have been busy on that phone today!
3. Chips for tea.
Yes, keep on the war path and don't let them get to you, Pat.
That's a whole lot of bananas to eat up while they are still edible - only a few seem to need dedicated attention to eat them quickly!
@seanoneill Sean -- you took the words out of my mouth !! So reminds me of Bet Lynch !!! Keep battling on Pat -- some think we are the weaker sex -- but don't be beaten !! I seem to be battling with such people --all want to hang on to you and at the same time cost you more Hope your tomorrow is better !!
Love this, certainly is almost invisible against that background. You cetainly need chips for tea after all that aggro to fuel you for the next battle!
That's capitalism for you. A million choices but non of them you want and there's no peace and quiet! Still every now and again it throws up some charming objects that brighten a scene. Like a Bet Lynch duck!
Ooh, you have designer rubber ducks in your house, do you?! It seems we have to fight about everything these days, doesn't it? Sometimes I wish that big companies would just do as they're asked instead of what they want to do. Carry on with the good fight though ;)
@maggiemae We always had a proper chip pan & the kids loved having proper chips but when the last one got so disgustingly fatty I chucked it out. We have found some oven chips that are the best ones done in the oven although not as good as the proper thing but easier. The chips are coated in beef dripping & do cook beautifully....very handy for Harry when I am away. We go to the fish & chip shop about once a month & of coarse they are really good but still not as good as homemade in my reckoning.
Great shot, understand how you feel about the phone business. there always seems to be something I overlook even checking things twenty times and its so hard to compare the different offers from various companies. They always seem to win
5 kg of bananas!! How funny. Love this shot particularly with you explanation of feeling invisible. Very clever and made me smile! Your friend could always wait until the bananas are over ripe then freeze for banana bread, I love cake so always have them to hand!
What a great duck - and it's rather louche background! My son collects these ducks but we haven't got this one. Sounds like you're having a nightmare with these companies - customer service seems to mean more that we should provide them with a service these days
Good for you being on the war path! The older I get, the more invisible I seem to become! And I hate it. Sometimes tho I just don't have the energy to fight back ;( I should follow your example.
Brilliant shot. Keep up the good work. Don't let them wear you down. Believe it or not we had oven chips with dinner last night. Havent had chips for ages. My husband is the chip person. We are on the same wavelength. What with hen parties and now chips, what next!!!
I hate those contracts, they sucker you in and you can never get away without spending a fortune. If their service was good then they wouldn't have to bind you to a stinking contract. You would want to stay
Lovely photo - nice neighbour to share the bananas! We used to buy lots of over-ripe bananas when the kids were little, slice them, cover in lemon juice and then dehydrate them - delicious!

@judithg Your mum isn't Bet Lynch is she?
Fab shot :)
